Shape-selective reactions with zeolite catalysts. IV: Alkylation of toluene with ethylene to produce p-ethyltoluene
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison of the isomers produced by toluene disproportionation to produce p -xylene (and benzene) with alkylation to produce ethyltoluene, revealed that with the same catalyst, it is more para-selective than xylene.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shape-selective reactions with zeolite catalysts: V. Alkylation or disproportionation of ethylbenzene to produce ϱ-diethylbenzene
TL;DR: This paper showed that large-crystal ZSM-5 gives higher concentrations of para-DEB (PDEB) than small-crystall ZSM -5, and that disproportionation of EB over these catalysts gives benzene and DEB.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shape-selective reactions with zeolite catalysts: VI. Alkylation of benzene with propylene to produce cumene
TL;DR: In this paper, benzene was alkylated with propylene over HZSM-5 zeolite catalysts to produce cumene with 88-94% selectivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shape-selective reactions with zeolite catalysts: VII. Alkylation and disproportionation of cumene to produce diisopropylbenzene
TL;DR: Cumene disproportionates to diisopropylbenzenes (DIPB) and benzene over Mobil ZSM-12 zeolite catalyst as mentioned in this paper, and is alkylated with propylene to give DIPB with high selectivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Conversion of methanol to hydrocarbons: III. Methylation, ethylation, and propylation of benzene with methanol
TL;DR: In this article, the distribution of the methylene group, under mild conditions, may be a measure of the early production of light olefins, from methanol, within the zeolite pores.
