Healthcare sector has been witnessing prodigious developments across the decade. The developments in the sector has been brought about by the amalgamation of several technologies, from IoT to AI. The vast changes in this arena has brought about a change is the quality of life. With the expansion of such systems in a hospital, the tracking and monitoring of medical equipments have become a tedious task. The equipments in the hospital needs to be located in the most efficient manner in terms of cost, accuracy and reliability. Considering the hurdles faced, the authors introduce a system which would trace the medical equipments and monitor them using the technology of Ultra wide band (UWB). TDoA (time difference of arrival) method and 3 D triangulation techniques are implemented along with. The authors have put forth a hardware and software architecture of the system along with a complete component design. The implementation at the first instance is executed inside a hospital room with dimensions of 13.5m X 17.5m and will be later carried forward in the entire hospital premises. The equipments will be further watched upon continually using a proposed novel software application.

Ultra Wide Band Technology (UWB) has already been used in several ways for such purposes but not completely utilized and moreover several gaps such as Non Line of sight (NLOS) error mitigation and advancement of features such as 3D plotting of tag/asset coordinates are still to be investigated on. This paper proposes a system and software architecture for asset tracking for industries using Ultra Wide band Technology with Time difference of Arrival (TDoA) technology along with triangulation method and is a promising feature to fill up the above said gaps. It implements the plotting of tag coordinates in both 2D and 3D. The assets in an industry can be traced and monitored with the help of a mobile application in this proposed architecture. The accuracy and precision is expected to be better than the present available UWB systems using the proposed work.

Land administration and management systems (LAMSs) have already made progress in the field of 3D Cadastre and the visualization of complex urban properties to support property markets and provide geospatial information for the sustainable management of smart cities. However, in less developed economies, with informally developed urban areas—the so-called self-made cities—the 2D LAMSs are left behind. Usually, they are less effective and mainly incomplete since a large number of informal constructions remain unregistered. This paper presents the latest results of an innovative on-going research aiming to structure, test and propose a low-cost but reliable enough methodology to support the simultaneous and fast implementation of both 2D land parcel and 3D property unit registration of informal, multi-story and unregistered constructions. An Indoor Positioning System (IPS) built upon low-cost Bluetooth technology combined with an innovative machine learning algorithm and connected with a 3D LADM-based cadastral mapping mobile application are the two key components of the technical solution under investigation. The proposed solution is tested for the first floor of a multi-room office building. The main conclusions concern the potential, usability and reliability of the method.

A Prototype Machine Learning Tool Aiming to Support 3D Crowdsourced Cadastral Surveying of Self-Made Cities

In today’s highly urbanized environment, indoor space is becoming more and more complex. In this paper, a fast real-time positioning system with high precision and low cost is developed based on Bluetooth signal. In this paper, the clients and servers are established with several Raspberry Pis, which can sense mobile detection targets by detecting Bluetooth signal. Information exchange is realized through web-based and embedded database applications. The smoothing algorithm is adopted to reduce positioning error, and graphical display technique is adopted for visualizing location information. The desired result is an integrated solution for Bluetooth-based indoor positioning system, which has a good application performance and practicability.

Development of indoor positioning system based on Bluetooth

In recent years, rigid flexible coupling structure has been widely used in robots. However, its nonlinear deformation increases the residual vibration of the system, which causes a great challenge to the motion control of robots. In this paper, a kind of motion control algorithm based on input shaping is proposed. Based on the analysis of the vibration modes of the system, motion controllers are designed based on three typical input shaping algorithms, which not only make the rigid flexible coupling system can respond quickly, but also reduce the residual vibration in the process of motion. The effectiveness, robustness and real-time performance of the motion control algorithm are verified by numerical simulation and motion control experiments. The study results of this paper lay the foundation for the motion control of complex robot and exoskeleton system.
