An exemplary exercise device includes a handheld force sensor with complementary male and female connectors extending from opposite sides thereof. The force sensor senses pulling and/or pushing forces exerted between the opposing sides. The male connector may be resistant to travel through the female connector except in limited orientations. The connectors allow the exercise device to interface with any mobile or immobile device having complementary connectors. Non- complementary connectors can connect with the exercise device through a body passage. Depending on devices interfaced with the exercise device, force readings can be taken during a vast variety of motions using different muscle groups during training, exercise, and rehabilitation / physical therapy in homes, schools, healthcare facilities, health clubs, etc. Force readings from the force sensor may be communicated via wired and/or wireless technologies to other devices for live (real- time) processing and display as well as additional historical analysis and reporting.

A personal wellness system may facilitate personal wellness management via personal wellness devices. The personal wellness devices may be portable, handheld devices configured to facilitate personal exercise and personal wellness management using the device. Exercises performed using the personal wellness devices may be tracked based on forces exerted on the personal wellness device, a location and/or motion of the personal wellness device, and/or other bases for tracking personal exercise. Tracked exercises may be a basis for determining exercise parameters such as information associated with cardiovascular endurance, respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, and/or balance; calories burnt or energy expended; a completion level of a prescribed exercise routine; a quantified improvement in an exercise; and/or other exercise parameters. The personal wellness system may facilitate automated and/or live coaching, exercise regimen design, exercise scheduling, diet program design, rehabilitation, and/or other functions associated with personal wellness management.

A cable exercise machine includes a first pull cable and a second pull cable incorporated into a frame. Each of the first pull cable and the second pull cable are linked to at least one resistance mechanism. An exercise device having many advantageous features is described, including the ability to provide a combination of grips to the user, and the ability to easily mount the device to a wall. The exercise device includes a mechanism that permits a limited range of longitudinally motion for an elongated member having grips. The mechanism permits a user to balance while exercising, and provides support resulting from excessive motion of the exercise device.

A treadmill includes a frame, an exercise deck attached to the frame, and a first handle movably attached to the frame. The first handle has a first orientation where the first handle is positioned within a region above the exercise deck and stabilized to support a user's weight during a body weight exercise, and a second orientation where the first handle is positioned away from the region above the exercise deck.

The force measuring system may be powered by batteries ( 104, 104 ′) contained in the housing of the force measuring system, contained in a handgrip ( 52 ) of the gripping structure, or located aboard the electrified glove, may be powered by a power generating system ( 132 ) driven by the pulley during, or may be powered by a piezoelectric sensor ( 72 ) used to measure the force applied to the cord. The length adjuster includes a body ( 162 ) having a plurality of slots ( 164 ) that threadedly receive a portion of the cord and allow a user to create, and adjust the size of, an excess loop ( 190 ) to change the effective length of the cord.
