The invention of new radical chain reactions. Part VIII. Radical chemistry of thiohydroxamic esters; A new method for the generation of carbon radicals from carboxylic acids
TL;DR: The aliphatic and alicyclic esters of N-hydroxypyridine-2-thione are readily reduced by tributylstannane in a radical chain reaction to furnish nor-alkanes as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
New and improved methods for the radical decarboxylation of acids
TL;DR: In this article, a radical chain decarboxylation to the corresponding noralkane on treatment with either tri-nbutylstannane or t-butylmercaptan was shown to give noralkyl 2-pyridyl sulphides.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recent progress in the design and synthesis of artificial enzymes

Free Radical Chain Reactions in Organic Synthesis
TL;DR: Some basic concepts of Free Radical Chain Reactions as mentioned in this paperRCR are discussed in detail in the introduction of this paper and the references are given in Section 2.2.1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stable N-functionalised ‘pincer’ bis carbene ligands and their ruthenium complexes; synthesis and catalytic studies
TL;DR: In this article, a deprotonation of 2,6-bis(arylimidazolium)pyridine dibromide with KN(SiMe3)2 gave thermally stable 2, 6-bis (arylimide-2-ylidene) pyridine, which was further used to prepare ruthenium pincer complexes; the latter show catalytic activity in transfer hydrogenation of carbonyl compounds.
