In recent year, the Internet of Things (IoT) has drawn significant research attention. IoT is considered as a part of the Internet of the future and will comprise billions of intelligent communicating `things'. The future of the Internet will consist of heterogeneously connected devices that will further extend the borders of the world with physical entities and virtual components. The Internet of Things (IoT) will empower the connected things with new capabilities. In this survey, the definitions, architecture, fundamental technologies, and applications of IoT are systematically reviewed. Firstly, various definitions of IoT are introduced; secondly, emerging techniques for the implementation of IoT are discussed; thirdly, some open issues related to the IoT applications are explored; finally, the major challenges which need addressing by the research community and corresponding potential solutions are investigated.

The internet of things: a survey

What makes organizations so similar? We contend that the engine of rationalization and bureaucratization has moved from the competitive marketplace to the state and the professions. Once a set of organizations emerges as a field, a paradox arises: rational actors make their organizations increasingly similar as they try to change them. We describe three isomorphic processes-coercive, mimetic, and normative—leading to this outcome. We then specify hypotheses about the impact of resource centralization and dependency, goal ambiguity and technical uncertainty, and professionalization and structuration on isomorphic change. Finally, we suggest implications for theories of organizations and social change.

Internet of Things (IoT) has been developed as one of the most significant technology in the future of the Internet, in which the physical objects are transformed into smart objects that can be handled and monitored via the Internet. The trust management takes a significant role in the IoT for enabling trustworthy data collection, context-awareness, and enhanced user privacy. Despite the critical significance of trust management techniques in the IoT, there is not any organized and comprehensive study in this field. Therefore, the aim of this article is to review the available methods in this field in a systematic way. In this regard, the selected techniques are categorized into four main classes, including recommendation-based, prediction-based, policy-based, and reputation-based. Then they are discussed and also compared based on some trust metrics, such as accuracy, adaptability, availability, heterogeneity, integrity, privacy, reliability, and scalability. Furthermore, some hints and challenges for further studies are outlined.

A Comprehensive Study on the Trust Management Techniques in the Internet of Things

Organisations desire timeliness. Timeliness facilitates a better responsiveness to changes in an organisation's external environment to either attain or maintain competitiveness. Despite its importance, decision timeliness has not been explicitly examined. Decision timeliness is measured in this study as the time taken to commit to a decision. The research objective is to identify the drivers of decision timeliness in the context of adopting service-oriented architecture SOA, an innovation for enterprise computing. A research model rooted in the technology–organisation–environment TOE framework is proposed and tested with data collected in a large-scale study. The research variables have been examined before in the context of adoption, but their applicability to the timeliness of innovation decision-making has not received much attention and their salience is unclear. The results support multiple hypothesised relationships, including the finding that a risk-oriented organisational culture as well as normative and coercive pressures accelerates decision timeliness. Top management support as well as the traditional innovation attributes compatibility, relative advantage and complexity/ease-of-use were not found to be significant when examining their influence on decision timeliness, which appears inconsistent with generally accepted knowledge and deserves further examination.
