Wellhead distribution valving (known in the trade as a Xmas tree) are protected from potential thieves by security apparatus that prevents access to the mounting flange bolts of the wellhead valving. This security apparatus comprises a housing having two similar half sections. Each half section includes an outer wall, a semi-annular top and a semi-annular bottom. A plurality of locking members are integrally attached to the outer wall at each half to mate with a locking receptacle attached to the inner surface of the outer wall of the mating half section. An inner core of a metallic material is incorporated into the outer wall, the top and the bottom to increase the difficulty of penetration through the surface housing.

Wellhead security apparatus

A locking device for use on valves such as ball valves having a body and a rotatable handle on the body comprises a first body half, a second body half, and a hinge pivotally connecting the first and second body halves together such that the locking device is positionable in open and closed positions on the valve. A body opening is formed in the first and second body halves to receive the valve body in the closed position. First and second handle openings are formed in the first and second body halves to receive the valve handle, and substantially prevent the handle from being rotated, in respective first and second positions of the handle. The handle is externally visible in both positions. A locking mechanism is provided on the first and second body halves to retain the locking device in the closed position. A lock can be used to prevent the locking device from being removed from the valve without permanently damaging the locking device.

Locking device for valves

A portable security box is provided comprising a container formed from a pair of mating sections and a lock carried by one of the sections and having a flexible cable extending therefrom. The other section defines an opening for accessing the lock when both sections are in a closed position. The other section also defines a pair of openings which align with openings in the first section when the sections are in the closed position. In this manner, the cable can extend from the lock carried by the one section, through the aligned openings, and back to the lock, to secure the sections in the closed position. The container is formed from a pair of plastic sections which are hinged together at an end opposite the end at which the lock is located.

Portable security box

A lock guard (10) for use with a padlock (200) and a conventional tractor trailer door latch system (100). The lock guard (10) comprises a main housing unit (11) dimensioned to cover the door latch system (100) and including an exterior auxiliary housing unit (13) provided with a cut-out (61) dimensioned to receive a padlock (200) and an interior center piece unit (13) having an aperture (42) dimensioned to receive a portion of the padlock for captively engaging portions of the trailer door latch system.

Lockable meter retention ring

An oil or gas well Christmas tree guard apparatus provides an annular guard body which is protectively secured about a bolted flanged connection of the well Christmas tree, the guard so placed forming an envelope about the flanged connection and preventing access by a thief to the bolts and thus discouraging removal of the bolts from the bolted connection. The protective guard body thus prevents removal of the Christmas tree from its location at the well head by theft denying access to the bolted connection which flanges the Christmas tree to the remainder of the well. In the preferred embodiment the guard body provides a pair of annular shroud halves which are hingedly connected allowing them to be pivotally moved from an outer position allowing removal from the flanged connection to an inner closed operative position providing an overall annular guard body which is latched into position about the desired bolted connection. The guard body hinge as well as the latch structure can be protectively covered by a connected shroud or housing about the latch structure, or the hinge respectively.
