Harsh,Anthony Hartin,Ingmar Hartl,Beate Heinemann,Thomas Heinzl,N. TalHod,Matthias C. Hoffmann,Anton Ilderton,Ben King,Avraham A. Levy,Jenny List,A. R. Maier,E. Negodin,Gilad Perez,I. Pomerantz,Andreas Ringwald,Christian Rödel,M. Saimpert,F. C. Salgado,Gianluca Sarri,I. Savoray,T. Teter,Matthew Wing,Matthew Zepf +36 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the LUXE (Laser Und XFEL Experiment), an experiment that uses the high-quality and high-energy electron beam of the European X-FEL and a powerful laser.
Journal ArticleDOI
Opportunities for two-color experiments in the soft X-ray regime at the European XFEL
Svitozar Serkez,Winfried Decking,Lars Froehlich,Natalia Gerasimova,Jan Grünert,Marc W. Guetg,Marko Huttula,Suren Karabekyan,Andreas Koch,Vitali Kocharyan,Yauhen Kot,Edwin Kukk,Joakim Laksman,Pavel Lytaev,Theophilos Maltezopoulos,Tommaso Mazza,Michael Meyer,Evgeni Saldin,Evgeny Schneidmiller,Matthias Scholz,Sergey Tomin,Maurizio Vannoni,Torsten Wohlenberg,Mikhail Yurkov,Igor Zagorodnov,Gianluca Geloni +25 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the status of the project, its scientific focus and expected performance, including start-to-end simulations of the photon beam transport up to the sample, as well as recent experimental results demonstrating two-color lasing at photon energies of 805 eV + 835 eV and 910 eV+ 950 eV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Model-independent tuning for maximizing free electron laser pulse energy
Alexander Scheinker,Dorian Bohler,Sergey Tomin,R. Kammering,Igor Zagorodnov,Holger Schlarb,Matthias Scholz,Bolko Beutner,Winfried Decking +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate the application of automatic, model-independent feedback for the maximization of average pulse energy of the light produced by free electron laser (FEL) systems.
Book ChapterDOI
The european xfel project
TL;DR: The European XFEL as discussed by the authors is a free electron laser based on self-amplified spontaneous emission in the X-ray regime, driven by a superconducting 17.5 GeV linear accelerator, followed by 5 separate undulators both for SASE FEL radiation and incoherent radiation.
