Abstract: We present the case of a young man who has suffered from recurrent systemic thromboembolism since he developed an acute interior wall myocardial infarction at the age of 27. A large elongated, pendunculated left ventricular thrombus was found by two dimensional echocardiography and was successfully removed by open heart surgery.
