Analysis of project benefit of solar energy collection and irrigation system based on AHP

Currently, more people choose renewable energy over conventional energy, such as solar energy, which is the most eligible renewable energy in Palembang and South Sumatra due to its strategic location in the equator. However, solar energy cultivation is experiencing various obstacles resulting in not producing maximum output, which is indicated by low output efficiency. Solar tracker or solar tracking system is one of the best methods to ensure the maximum sunlight received by the PV panels. This paper shows the effectiveness of a solar tracking system controlled by FLC compared to a fixed system. The data is taken for 15 days during the weather changing in Indonesia, from the rainy season to the dry season. The maximum power generated by dual-axis solar tracking and fixed solar panels is 96.4768 W and 63,5106 W, whereas the power generated by dual-axis solar tracking is 32.9662 W higher than fixed solar panels. The highest efficiency obtained by dual-axis solar tracking is 25%, while fixed solar panels are 16%. The application of dual-axis solar tracking can optimize and increase the efficiency of solar panels because the panels are always perpendicular to the position of the highest irradiance. Data results show that FLC-based solar effectively improves power output and efficiency compared to a fixed solar panel.

Smart optimization of PV panel output using Fuzzy Logic Controller based solar tracker

Techno-economic investigation of an environmentally friendly small-scale solar tracker-based PV/wind/Battery hybrid system for off-grid rural electrification in the mount bamboutos, Cameroon

This work evaluates solar tracking systems in application to small-scale photovoltaic systems. To do this, these systems are divided into two subsystems: one-axis solar tracking subsystem and two-axis solar tracking subsystem. Each is explored for its suitability as a suitable technology for small-scale application, defined by meeting a set of seven attributes. A specialized literature review process was developed specifically to present the potential of each subsystem evaluated, through an evaluation matrix. The analysis of solar tracking technologies and attributes was carried out through the formal concept analysis methodology. To facilitate the processing of information, a free access tool called concept Explorer is used. The analysis carried out shows that two-axis solar tracking systems are the most promising option as they meet a greater number of attributes than single-axis tracking systems. The applied methodology has proven to be useful for the evaluation of renewable technologies and serves as a reference, to carry out analyzes that group and link different alternatives as a model for evaluating a deterministic set of attributes.

Evaluation of solar tracking systems applied to small-scale photovoltaic systems: a review

Energy consumption is increasing every day, which is why renewable energy is increasingly being offered as one of the most important solutions in the fight against climate change and the energy crisis. Exactly one of these forms is solar energy. Solar radiation is directly converted to heat or electricity. The conversion is done by different devices, some of which are photovoltaic cells for generating electricity. This paper shows how to increase the energy efficiency of photovoltaic power plants with a somewhat different approach to constructive solutions of load-bearing structure. Constructive solutions in this paper are causally related to the geographical position and the local climate. A particularly constructive solution was made in the paper with technical and economic analysis.
