In this brief, a methodology for detection and accommodation of actuator faults for a class of multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) stochastic systems is presented. First, a new real-time fault estimation module that estimates the actuator effectiveness is developed. The actuator fault diagnosis is based on the estimation of the state vector. Under some conditions, the stochastic system is transformed into two separate subsystems. One of them is not affected by actuator faults, so a reduced order Kalman filter can be used to estimate its states. The other, whose states are measurable, is affected by the faults. Then, the output of the nominal controller is reconfigured to compensate for the loss of actuator effectiveness in the system. Simulation results of a helicopter in vertical plane is presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed fault-tolerant control scheme.

Fault estimation and accommodation for linear MIMO discrete-time systems

This paper studies the problem of fault estimation using adaptive fault diagnosis observer. A fast adaptive fault estimation (FAFE) approximator is proposed to improve the rapidity of fault estimation. Then based on linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, a feasible algorithm is explored to solve the designed parameters. Furthermore, an extension to sensor fault case is investigated. Finally, simulation results are presented to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed FAFE methodology.

On-orbit spacecraft has the characteristics of high cost, high complexity and difficult maintenance. In order to ensure that the spacecraft can meet the on-orbit lifetime, it is necessary to ensure that the subsystems have high reliability and safety. Considering the complexity of multi-subsystem and multi-parameter of the spacecraft, a reliability evaluation method of on-orbit spacecraft based on the dynamic weighted comprehensive evaluation is proposed. The state indexes of the subsystems are unified and standardized. A mathematical model for spacecraft comprehensive evaluation is designed. As a result, the reliability evaluation of on-orbit spacecraft subsystem is realized. The method eliminates the subjectivity of evaluators. It can provide more scientific and reasonable evaluation and comparison results for the reliability of on-orbit spacecraft subsystem.
