Journal ArticleDOI
Impacts of climate change on agriculture: Evidence from China
TL;DR: This paper developed an empirical framework, using fine-scale meteorological data, to estimate the link between corn and soybean yields and weather in China, and found that there are nonlinear and inverted U-shaped relationships between crop yields with weather variables.
Journal ArticleDOI
Economic Potential of Biomass Supply from Crop Residues in China
TL;DR: Using a mathematical programming model, this article estimated the economic potential of biomass supply from crop residues in China at various exogenously-given biomass prices and identified the areas that are likely to produce crop residues.
Journal ArticleDOI
Supply of Cellulosic Biofuel Feedstocks and Regional Production Pattern
TL;DR: The Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) of 2007 limits the production of corn ethanol to 56 billion liters after 2015 and mandates that at least 80% of the ethanol from non-corn starch-based cellulosic feedstocks by 2022.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alternative Transportation Fuel Standards: Welfare Effects and Climate Benefits
TL;DR: In this article, a conceptual framework and a numerical simulation model of the fuel and agricultural sectors in the US were developed to analyze the effects of the existing Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) that mandates the blending of specific volumes of low carbon biofuels with liquid fossil fuels and a proposed national Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), that imposes a limit on the GHG intensity of the blended fuel on fuel mix.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stacking low carbon policies on the renewable fuels standard: Economic and greenhouse gas implications
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the economic and GHG implications of stacking a low carbon fuel standard (LCFS) with and without a carbon price policy on the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), and compared the performance of various policy combinations for food and fuel prices, fuel mix and fuel consumption.
