Various methods are developed for the safe transportation system and for risk mitigation, but there are still gaps remaining for the proper hazard identification and prioritization of safety measures purposes. This study describes a hazard identification technique from a system breakdown approach to its analysis for risk management in a transportation system. A safety function deployment (SFD) approach is introduced which is basically the integration of quality function deployment (QFD) and risk management to identify potential hazards and find crucial safety measures. This method can be used as a technique to identify safety requirements and implement proper safety barriers in order to reduce the risk in the transportation system. 

A safety function deployment model for improvement in safety related decision making: A case of transportation system

The invention discloses a household appliance reliability improvement method based on quality guarantee data analysis. The household appliance reliability improvement method comprises the following steps: (1) obtaining household appliance fault data obtained by quality guarantee data analysis; (2) putting forward a reliability improvement measure according to the fault data, and feeding back the reliability improvement measure to the design, production and use stages of the product; (3) putting forward a reliability improvement measure, and iterating the process; (4) establishing a reliabilitygrowth model according to the fault data of the household appliance, tracking and evaluating the reliability growth of the product, analyzing the possible growth trend in advance, and making a growthplan; (5) carrying out growth trend statistical analysis; and (6) effectively controlling and managing a reliability improvement process in combination with PDCA circulation. According to the household appliance reliability improvement method, the actual use condition of the product and the real demand of the user are reflected more truly, and the reliability improvement measure of the householdappliance is more accurately provided, and theoretical technical support is provided for reliability improvement, and reliability improvement of household appliances is achieved.

Household appliance reliability improvement method based on quality guarantee data analysis

This study outlines the potential of the quality function deployment method as an effective tool in determining product quality and reliability improvement. The main failure modes and causes can be obtained from the quality warranty data statistical analysis and translated into customer requirements. The quality function deployment method converts customer requirements into improvement measures. Through quantitative analysis of the relationship between customer requirements and engineering measures, the degree of importance of engineering measures can be obtained and key measures determined. The quality function deployment method utilises a series of planning matrices (houses of quality). The present study adopted the principles of the quality management cycle to propose a procedure based on quality function deployment for product quality and reliability improvement. Finally, a case study of a common household appliance was used to illustrate the method.
