A comparative study of blast resistance of cylindrical sandwich panels with aluminum foam and auxetic honeycomb cores

TL;DR: In this paper, the dynamic response of cylindrical sandwich panels with aluminum foam cores, hexagonal honeycomb cores, and auxetic honeycomb core are compared numerically. And the numerical results have a good agreement with the experiment date.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimal design of a novel cylindrical sandwich panel with double arrow auxetic core under air blast loading

TL;DR: The cylindrical DAA structure performed much better than its equal solid panel in both blast resistance and energy absorption capacity and can be used as a reference for different applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Blast response of continuous-density graded cellular material based on the 3D Voronoi model

TL;DR: In this article, a model based on the rigid-plastic hardening (R-PH) model was used to predict the one-dimensional blast response of continuous-density graded cellular rods.
Journal ArticleDOI

Firm embedding behavior of annular grooved projectiles impacting ductile metal targets

TL;DR: In this article, the firm embedding behavior of AGP was observed by impact experiments and numerical simulations provided a better understanding of this process, which indicated that the filling-material in the groove was mainly due to the filling material in the hole rather than the friction between the projectile and target, unlike traditional shape such as conical projectile.
