A method is provided for modifying an image. The method comprises displaying an image, the image comprising a portion of an object; and determining if an edge of the object is in a location within the portion. The method further comprises detecting movement, in a member direction, of an operating member with respect to the edge. The method still further comprises moving, if the edge is not in the location, the object in an object direction corresponding to the detected movement; and modifying, if the edge is in the location, the image in response to the detected movement, the modified image comprising the edge in the location.

The invention relates to an alkali-free aluminoborosilicate glass having a coefficient of thermal expansion .alpha.20/300 of between 2.8 ~ 10 -6/K and 3.6 ~ 10 -6/K, which has the following composition (in % by weight, based on oxide): silicon dioxide (SiO2) > 58 - 65, boric oxide (B2O3) > 6 - 11.5, aluminum oxide (Al2O3) > 20 - 25, magnesium oxide (MgO) 4 - 4.5 - 8, strontium oxide (SrO) 0 - 3, zinc oxide (ZnO) 0 - < 2, and which is highly suitable for use as a substrate glass both in display technology and in thin-film photovoltaics.

Alkali-free aluminoborosilicate glass, and uses thereof

Glasses are disclosed which are used to produce substrates in flat panel display devices. The glasses exhibit a density less than about 2.45 gm/cm 3 and a liquidus viscosity greater than about 200,000 poises, the glass consisting essentially of the following composition, expressed in terms of mol percent on an oxide basis: 65-75 SiO 2 , 7-13 Al 2 O 3 , 5-15 B 2 O 3 , 0-3 MgO, 5-15 CaO, 0-5 SrO, and essentially free of BaO. The glasses also exhibit a strain point exceeding 650° C.

A glass article comprises a glass core comprising at least one exposed surface and a glass skin, wherein the skin is connected to the exposed surface of the cone, wherein the skin comprises a glass composition comprising a strain point greater than 650 DEG C.

Laminated glass articles and methods of making thereof

Provided is an alkali-free glass, which is substantially free of alkali metal oxides, and has a strain point of more than 680° C., an average coefficient of thermal expansion in the temperature range of 30 to 380° C. of 40 to 55×10 −7 /° C., and a liquidus temperature of less than 1,200° C. Further, the alkali-free glass comprises, as a glass composition in terms of mass %, 55 to 70% of SiO 2 , 10 to 20% of Al 2 O 3 , 0.1 to 4.5% of B 2 O 3 , 0 to 1% of MgO, 5 to 15% of CaO, 0.5 to 5% of SrO, and 5 to 15% of BaO.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain alkali-free glass excellent in durability to buffered hydrofluoric acid or hydrochloric acid and capable of forming by float method by constituting the glass so as to have a composition comprising SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , B 2 O 3 , MgO, CaO, SrO, BaO, SnO 2 , ZrO 2 and TiO 2 and substantially not containing an alkali metal oxide. SOLUTION: This glass has the following composition: SiO 2 : 0-75mol%, Al 2 O 3 : 0-25mol%, B 2 O 3 , MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO: each 0-20ml%, MgO+CaO+SrO+ BaO: 5-40mol%, SnO 2 +ZrO 2 +TiO 2 : 0.1-20mol%. The glass is produced by continuously charging a raw material compound into a melting furnace and heating and melting the compound to 1500-1600°C. The alkali-free glass having ≥600°C strain point, ≤50×10 -7 /°C average thermal expansion coefficient (at 50-300°C), ≤4mg/cm 3 reduction amount in buffered hydrofluoric acid and ≤20% cloudiness of glass surface is obtained by changing the composition of each component. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To refine an alkali-free glass having a specified strain point and a specified As 2 O 3 content while minimizing the amt. of As or Sb used by incorporating an effective amt. of Sb 2 O 3 , SO 3 , Fe 2 O 3 or SnO 2 and an effective amt. of Cl or F into the glass, melting and refining the glass. SOLUTION: An effective amt. of one or more selected from among ≤1.5 wt.% Sb 2 O 3 , ≤5.0 wt.% SO 3 , ≤2.0 wt.% Fe 2 O 3 and ≤5.0 wt.% SnO 2 and an effective amt. of ≤5.0 wt.% Cl and/or ≤5.0 wt.% F are incorporated into an alkali-free glass having ≥640°C strain point and ≤0.5 wt.% As 2 O 3 content and the glass is melted and refined. Method for refining alkali-free glass

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of alkali-free glass of a low bubble content suitable for a glass substrate for a flat panel display. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method of the alkali-free glass, a raw material is prepared by regulating the content of SnO 2 to 0.01-2.0 mass% relative to 100 mass% of the total of the mother composition, which composition being shown below, and after heating and melting the raw material at 1,500-1,650°C, in the state of a melt glass of 1,300-1,500°C, oxygen bubbles generating at the interface of the molten glass and the platinum member are absorbed by oxidation of the SnO to SnO 2 . The composition in mass% of the mother composition is 58.4-66.0% SiO 2 , 15.3-22.0% Al 2 O 3 , 5.0-12.0% B 2 O 3 , 0-6.5% MgO, 0-7.0% CaO, 4-12.5% SrO. and 0-2.0% BaO, wherein (MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO) is 9.0-18.0%. SOLUTION: In the method by which the alkali-free glass having a strain point of ≥640°C and containing ≤0.5 wt.% As 2 O 3 is clarified at the time of melting, effective quantities of one or more kinds of substances selected from the group consisting of, by weight, ≤1.5% Sb 2 O 3 , ≤5.0% SO 3 , ≤2.0% Fe 2 O 3 and ≤5.0% SnO 2 , and effective quantities of one or more kinds of substances selected from the group consisting of ≤5.0% Cl and ≤5.0% F are incorporated in the glass, and melting and clarification are performed. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a no-alkali glass which exhibits excellent characteristics as a glass substrate for use in a display and is excellent in the resistance to reduction and further is suitable for forming by the float process. SOLUTION: The no-alkali glass has a substantial chemical composition, in mol%, comprising SiO 2 of 60% or more and less than 66%, Al 2 O 3 of 0 to 12%, B 2 O 3 of 5 to 10%, MgO of 0 to 18%, CaO of 0 to 18%, SrO of 0 to 18%, and BaO of 0 to 6% with the proviso that CaO+SrO is 10 to 25% and MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO is 15.5 to 30%, and is substantially free of an alkali metal oxide.
