A system for detecting partial discharge in electrical components may include a control system that may operate a drive in an industrial automation system. The industrial automation system may include the electrical components being analyzed for partial discharge. The system may also include one or more acoustic sensors that may detect one or more acoustic waveforms generated within at least one of the electrical components. The system may also include a monitoring system that may receive the acoustic waveforms from the acoustic sensors and determine whether the one electrical component is experiencing partial discharge based on the acoustic waveforms. The monitoring system may then send a notification to the control system when the one electrical component is determined to be experiencing partial discharge, such that the notification indicates that the one electrical component is experiencing partial discharge.

Internal abnormality diagnosis method of transformer

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attempt to solve controversial object that since, when partial discharge of electric equipment is detected with the high frequency CT technique, measuring of two earthing wire currents is required for denoising, workability is poor resulted in difficulty of accurate denoising. SOLUTION: A high frequency CT is attached to each of the two earthing wires with different partial discharge signals and levels of noise. Comparing the amplitude of signals detected from a first and a second high frequency CT, when signals from the first high frequency current transformer is equal or less than signals from the second high frequency current transformer, the output is set to 0, while when signals from the first high frequency current transformer is larger than signals from the second high frequency current transformer, the output is generated to maintain as n periods classification of power supply voltage. When it counts n periods, by superimposing the maintained output signals of n periods, existence or nonexistence of partial discharge is detected based on whether output signal concentrates in a specific time period. Partial discharge detecting technique for electric equipment and device thereof

PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect the existence of an inner abnormality in an early stage through monitoring the existence of an inner discharge with high accuracy by detecting both a discharge pulse and an ultrasonic pulse generated accompanying the inner discharge in an oil-filled electric apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A discharge pulse detecting element 15 is disposed between a grounding conductor 14 of a tank 10 of an oil-filled electric apparatus and the ground, while an ultrasonic pulse detecting element 20 is mounted on the tank 10. When an inner discharge occurs in a winding 11 of the oil-filled electric apparatus, the discharge pulse is detected by the element 15 and fed to a comparator-discriminator circuit 30 as a pulse signal with a given width. On the other hand, the ultrasonic pulse generated in the winding 11 by a partial discharge propagates through the insulating oil in the tank 10 and is detected by the element 20 when reaching the wall of the tank 10 and fed to the circuit 30 as a pulse signal with a given width. The circuit 30 obtains the detection time difference between the pulse signal of the discharge pulse D and the pulse signal of the ultrasonic pulse S. When the time difference is smaller than a prescribed time tmax, the circuit 30 judges an inner abnormality to be generated and transmits an output signal to an output circuit 40.
