Research on dynamic task allocation for multiple unmanned aerial vehicles

The target assignment problem is a classic problem in military field. Its purpose is choosing the best plan of distribution to get the most benefit and minimum cost while meeting the constraint condition. For the cooperation target assignment problem of missiles, each missile can be regarded as an agent, thus forming a multi-agent system. In this article, some common methods of target assignment were discussed firstly. After that the Multi-Agent technique was introduced in cooperation target assignment problem. And a mathematical model of cooperation target assignment problem was established. Then according to the characteristics and restrictions of target assignment, an improved contract network protocol was introduced. Finally, the simulation based on MATLAB demonstrated that a rational allocation of target was achieved by this algorithm.

Cooperation Target Assignment of Missiles Based on Multi-Agent technique and Improved Contract Net Protocol

Aiming at the problem of poor timeliness and large communication volume in the traditional contract network protocol (CNP) when dealing with the dynamic multi-UAV cooperative reconnaissance task assignment problem, this paper proposes an improved contract network protocol (ICNP). Firstly, the multi-base, battlefield risk and other factors are considered to establish the multi-UAV cooperative reconnaissance task assignment model; secondly, the credit mechanism and selection mechanism are introduced into the traditional CNP, which improves the bidding efficiency and optimizes the bidding scope; finally, the simulation results show that the ICNP can significantly reduce the system traffic and improve the problem solving timeliness without reducing the reconnaissance efficiency for complex dynamic assignment problem.

Dynamic Multi-UAV Cooperative Reconnaissance Task Assignment Based on ICNP

This paper focuses on the task planning problem for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarm. Considering the diverse requirements of different tasks, the variety of the execution capabilities of UAVs, and the effect of task execution sequence, the multi-type task allocation (MTTA) model is proposed with the objective of maximizing the global task execution reward, subject to the maximum flight length and limited operation ability of different UAVs, as well as the resource requirements and execution time window of different tasks. Moreover, the auction mechanism-based task allocation (AMTA) algorithm is proposed to allocate the conflict-free task sequences for UAVs. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed AMTA algorithm outperforms the reference algorithm on performance in terms of total reward, path length, completion time, and energy consumption.

Auction Mechanism-based Multi-type Task Planning for Heterogeneous UAVs Swarm

In view of the needs of the vehicle unit, this paper has carried on the research to the sensor distribution question. In the case of fully taking into account the information such as target identity and target priority, the mathematical model of optimal sensor allocation is established based on the maximum information gain criterion, and then the population-based incremental learning algorithm is used to solve. Finally, the validity of the method is verified by solving the problem of sensor assignment problem of the vehicle unit.

Aiming at the task assignment problem of unmanned combat aerial vehicle (abbreviated as UCAV), we consider single UCAV as an agent here, then UCAV formation compose multi-agent system (abbreviated as MAS) by using the theory of complex adaptive system. We established the target function model and correlative restriction model of task assignment for MAS. Based on the distributed characteristic of task assignment, we introduce the idea of market auction mechanism from contract net protocol (abbreviated as CNP) and use this method to build the cooperative task assignment model. Simulations prove that the model based on MAS and CNP we built is correct. And also simulation results indicate that contract net protocol can solve the problem of task assignment effectively and can achieve the global optimization.
