Life on the Screen is a fascinating and wide-ranging investigation of the impact of computers and networking on society, peoples' perceptions of themselves, and the individual's relationship to machines. Sherry Turkle, a Professor of the Sociology of Science at MIT and a licensed psychologist, uses Internet MUDs (multi-user domains, or in older gaming parlance multi-user dungeons) as a launching pad for explorations of software design, user interfaces, simulation, artificial intelligence, artificial life, agents, "bots," virtual reality, and "the on-line way of life." 
Turkle's discussion of postmodernism is particularly enlightening. She shows how postmodern concepts in art, architecture, and ethics are related to concrete topics much closer to home, for example AI research (Minsky's "Society of Mind") and even MUDs (exemplified by students with X-window terminals who are doing homework in one window and simultaneously playing out several different roles in the same MUD in other windows). Those of you who have (like me) been turned off by the shallow, pretentious, meaningless paintings and sculptures that litter our museums of modern art may have a different perspective after hearing what Turkle has to say. 
This is a psychoanalytical book, not a technical one. However, software developers and engineers will find it highly accessible because of the depth of the author's technical understanding and credibility. Unlike most other authors in this genre, Turkle does not constantly jar the technically-literate reader with blatant errors or bogus assertions about how things work. Although I personally don't have time or patience for MUDs,view most of AI as snake-oil, and abhor postmodern architecture, I thought the time spent reading this book was an extremely good investment.

The challenge of the semantic web is the provision of distributed information with well-defined meaning, understandable for different parties. e-Learning is efficient task relevant and just-in-time learning grown from the learning requirements of the new dynamically changing, distributed business world. In this paper we design an e-Learning system by using a semantic web and show how the semantic web resource description formats can be utilised for automatic generation of hypertext structures from distributed metadata. It is primarily based on ontology-based descriptions of content, context and structure of the learning materials and thus provides flexible and personalised access to these learning materials.

E-Learning System Overview Based on Semantic Web.

The laser beam profiles captured by CCD camera processed and analyzed by using 2D- graphic and displayed on the monitor. The analysis of the He-Ne profiles and laser diode profiles are presented. The results showed that the He-Ne laser emits a pure Gaussian beam, whereas the diode laser emits an elliptical beam shape. The laser beam profile analysis developed to study the intensity distribution, the laser power, number of modes and the laser beam, these parameters are quite important in many applications such as the medical, industrial and military. The analysis of the image profile can be used in determination the distance of the objects depending on the distribution of the spot contours of the laser beam with its width. As well as it can be used to capturing images to the objects and determining their distance and the shape of the objects.

The Varity and complexity of software increased from day to day, the software quality assurance must be used to make a balance between quality and productivity. The practice of applying software metrics to a software process and to a software product is a complex task that requires study and discipline and which brings knowledge of the status of the process and / or product of software in regards to the goals to achieve. In this paper we are suggested a software quality model to test the different factors that affect on the quality of software as well as increasing the productivity of the software by taking in consideration the software complexity that can faces the designer and implementer of the software systems. The proposed model showed how to provide safe, reliable and quality engineering software product to develop, by taking all factors affecting software quality to reach the ISO 9126.

Requirements of Software Quality Assurance Model

Data mining approach was used in this paper to predict labor market needs, by implementing Naive Bayes Classifiers, Decision Trees, and Decision Rules techniques. Naive Bayes technique implemented by creating tables of training; the sets of these tables were generated by using four factors that affect employee's continuity in their jobs. The training tables used to predict the classification of other (unclassified) instances, and tabulate the results of conditional and prior probabilities to test unknown instance for classification. The information obtained can classify unknown instances for employment in the labor market. In Decision Tree technique, a model was constructed from a dataset in the form of a tree, created by a process known as splitting on the value of attributes. The Decision Rules, which was constructed from Decision Trees of IF-THEN rules gave the best results, therefore we recommended using this method in predicting labor market.
