A photovoltaic roofing assembly comprises a roofing membrane (102), a plurality of photovoltaic modules (104, 106, 108) disposed as a layer on top of the roofing membrane (102), and a plurality of pre-formed spacers, pedestals or supports (112, 114, 116, 118, 120, 122) which are respectively disposed below the plurality of photovoltaic modules (104, 106, 108) and integral therewith, or fixed thereto. Spacers (112, 114, 116, 118, 120, 122) are disposed on top of roofing membrane (102). Membrane (102) is supported on conventional roof framing, and attached thereto by conventional methods. In an alternative embodiment, the roofing assembly may have insulation block (322) below the spacers (314, 314', 315, 315'). The geometry of the pre-formed spacers (112, 114, 116, 118, 120, 122, 314, 314', 315, 315') is such that wind tunnel testing has shown its maximum effectiveness in reducing net forces of wind uplift on the overall assembly. Such construction results in a simple, lightweight, self-ballasting, readily assembled roofing assembly which resists the forces of wind uplift using no roofing penetrations.

Solar cells each include: an insulator connected to a back surface of a photoelectric conversion part; a first through-hole electrode penetrating the insulator, and electrically connected to a first collector electrode; and a second through-hole electrode penetrating the insulator, and electrically connected to a second collector electrode. In addition, a wiring member is disposed on the insulator.

A solar cell module includes: two solar cells, each including an photoelectric conversion body 10a, 10b having first and second main faces and generating photogenerated carriers, a first electrode provided on the first main face, and a second electrode provided on the first or second main face and having a polarity opposite to that of the first electrode; and a wiring member 2a for electrically connecting the first electrode of one of the two solar cells to the second electrode of the other solar cell. The first electrode has a plurality of finger electrodes for collecting the photogenerated carriers generated in the photoelectric conversion body 10a and a bus-bar electrode 11a for collecting the photogenerated carriers collected by the plurality of finger electrodes. The wiring member 2a is connected onto the bus-bar electrode 11a of the one solar cell through a connection layer 13 formed of a conductive resin containing conductive material. The connection layer 13 is also in contact with the first main face of the photoelectric conversion body 10a.

A solar cell and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The solar cell includes a substrate of a first conductive type, an anti-reflection layer that is positioned on the substrate and is formed of a transparent conductive oxide material, a plurality of emitter layers on the substrate, the plurality of emitter layers being of a second conductive type opposite the first conductive type, a plurality of first electrodes on the plurality of emitter layers, and a plurality of second electrodes that are electrically connected to the substrate and are positioned to be spaced apart from the plurality of first electrodes. The first electrodes and the second electrodes are positioned on the same surface of the substrate.

Solar cell and method for manufacturing the same

The solar cell includes a substrate of a first conductive type having at least one via hole; an emitter layer only on at least a portion of the via hole and at least one selected from a group consisting of an incident surface and side surfaces of the substrate, the emitter layer having a second conductive type opposite the first conductive type; at least one first electrode on the incident surface, the first electrode being electrically connected to the emitter layer; a second electrode connected to an opposite surface to the incident surface; and at least one first electrode current collector on the opposite surface, the at least one first electrode current collector being insulated from the second electrode and being electrically connected to the at least one first electrode through the via hole.

Solar cell and method of manufacturing the same

A solar cell module includes a plurality of solar cells 1 connected to each other in a way that bus bar electrode 21 formed on surfaces of adjacent solar cells 1 are connected to each other with wiring members 41,42.
