Chebyshev spectral element method for natural convection in a porous cavity under local thermal non-equilibrium model

TL;DR: In this article, an accurate Chebyshev spectral element method was developed to simulate the natural convection in a porous cavity using the local thermal non-equilibrium model, and two horizontal walls of the cavity are adiabatic, while the left vertical wall is heated and the right side wall is cooled.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical investigation of flow around a slotted circular cylinder at low Reynolds number

TL;DR: In this article, a circular cylinder with a slit is implemented as an effective passive flow control technique for flow control and other relevant industrial practices, and it is shown that a larger slit width ratio and a smaller attack angle tend to induce lower time-mean drag coefficient and root-mean-square lift coefficient.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spectral element method for numerical simulation of ETHD enhanced heat transfer in an enclosure with uniform and sinusoidal temperature boundary conditions

TL;DR: In this article, the spectral element method was used to solve the coupled electric, flow, and heat fields simultaneously for electro-thermo-hydrodynamics (ETHD) in which the electric field potential was estimated by the classic Galerkin variation with the spectral approximation, and the streamline upwind Petrov-Galerkinetic variation and consistent approximate upwind technique were applied to stabilize the numerical simulation of charge density transport.
Journal ArticleDOI

Accurate numerical simulation for non-Darcy double-diffusive mixed convection in a double lid-driven porous cavity using SEM

TL;DR: The non-Darcy double-diffusive mixed convection in a double lid-driven porous cavity with two thermosolutal sources is numerically investigated in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI

Accurate solution for natural convection around single and tandem circular cylinders inside a square enclosure using SEM

TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral element method is applied to produce and serve as accurate solutions of benchmark quality for the natural convection around single and tandem circular cylinders inside a single and double cylinder.
