A method and system for evaluating and tuning tires includes a test rig on which one or more physical tires are mounted. A full vehicle model and a road description are used with the test rig to test and evaluate the tire as would be conducted on a real test track. The full vehicle model is modified to remove the characteristics of the tire or tires under test. The remainder of the full vehicle model produces output signals in the form of displacements or loads that are transmitted as inputs to the test rig to apply those signals. The test rig measures output signals in the form of complementary displacements or loads that will become inputs to the vehicle model in place of the removed model of the tire under test. In this manner, the physical tire under test is inserted into a real time model of the full vehicle, road and driver.

Method and system for tire evaluation and tuning with loading system and vehicle model

An apparatus having a sensor assembled to a wheel and capable of taking out information obtained by driving a drive part including at least a tire inflated at a predetermined internal pressure under the same condition as that in an actual drive is provided as a hardware, information output from this hardware is input to a software for simulating the traveling condition of a vehicle by a program modeling at least a vehicle body, at least a part of drive information output by the software is fed back to the hardware, and information indicating behavior characteristics of the entire vehicle body is taken out of the software while controlling the drive condition of the drive part of a vehicle according to the behavior of the vehicle. A vehicle simulation system and a device thereof capable of easily obtaining correct information on the vehicle traveling behavior at a low cost compared with an actual vehicle traveling test, an actual frame traveling test and a full computer simulation can be provided.

Systems and methods are provided for controlling the simulation of a coupled hybrid dynamic system. A physical test rig configured to drive the physical structure component of the system and to generate a test rig response as a result of applying a test rig drive signal. A processor is configured with a virtual model of a complementary system to the physical structure component. The processor receives the test rig response and generates a response of the complementary system based on a received test rig response. The system can be driven with a random input. The processor compares the test rig response with the response of the complementary system, the difference being used to form a system dynamic response model.

Methods and systems for off-line control for simulation of coupled hybrid dynamic systems

A piston member that includes a piston rod provided with a piston serves for reciprocating inside a cylinder barrel, the piston dividing the cylinder barrel chamber into a proximal cylinder barrel chamber having a proximal capped end opposite the piston and a distal cylinder barrel chamber having a distal cylinder barrel end opposite the piston. The piston member has at least one sealing ring or seat arranged inside the distal cylinder barrel chamber at the distal cylinder barrel end. Preferably three consecutive piston members are arranged to operate in a series in an apparatus for transporting coal powder to a gasifier. The movement of the pistons inside the cylinder barrels is controlled in relation to each other to transport apportioned batches of coal powder to a high pressure reactor.

A self-flushing small volume prover apparatus, method and system for removing foreign materials. A piston can be configured with a valve arrangement located within a cylindrical object in order to permit fluid to pass through an annular passage when the piston travels from a downstream position to an upstream position. An inlet port and an outlet port can be located at the bottom of the cylindrical object. The outlet port can be welded at the bottom of the bore cylinder so that foreign material can flow directly out of the prover bore cylinder via the outlet port. The velocity of the piston can remove the collected foreign material from the bore cylinder via the outlet port, thus creating a self-flushing prover.

Self-flushing small volume prover apparatus, method and system

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sharply reduce the number of prototypes by indicating the relation between the friction factor and slip ratio of a tire as a specific equation, determining coefficients from measured values, generating and referring an element technical table, and experimentally manufacturing and testing the experimental tire through simulation. SOLUTION: The relation between the friction factor μ and slip ratio S of a tire is stored as an equation μ=(aSb-c)exp(-Sd)+c.exp(Se), where(a), (b), (c), (d), (e) are coefficients (111). Relations between the friction factor μand slip ratio S of tires of many kinds are measured to determine the coefficients (a)-(e) (112, 114). An element technical table is generated from relations between the determined coefficients and the types of tires (114). Friction characteristics matched with development needs are determined by simulation in reference to the element technical table, and an experimental tire having the friction characteristics is experimentally manufactured and tested (117-119). Many prototypes are not required to be manufactured, and the development cost can be suppressed.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-volume prover which can stably detect leakage from a seal section between the internal surface of a cylinder and the external surface of a piston by obtaining the pressure suitable for detecting the leakage. SOLUTION: A valve plug piston 5 and a weighing piston 3 are put in a cylinder 2 housed in a cylindrical enclosure 1. The calibration of a flowmeter to be calibrated is performed by discharging a fluid by a standard volumetric flow rate, which is specified by the cylinder 2 and a weighing piston 3 by moving the piston 3 by a prescribed distance while the valve plug piston 5 is closed. U-shaped rings 7, 8, and 9, and 10 which maintain the watertightness of the pistons 3 and 5 are installed, with their opened ends being directed toward the flowing-in side. In addition, a tapered section which is formed so that the diameter of the section becomes larger toward a flowing-in side hole 6, and d flowing-out side hole 12 is provided on the internal surface of the cylinder 2. The leakage from the seal sections is detected from the sealing pressure, when the rings 8 and 10 move to a straight line section from the tapered section.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make normal operation confirmable, by judging the operating conditions of a small-volume prover(SVP) from the detection order of the signals of location marks. SOLUTION: In normal operating conditions, a measuring piston 16 starts to run by the approach of a valve disk piston 12 to an inflow-side through hole 9, immediately after this, the valve disk piston 12 blocks the inflow-side through hole 9, and continuously the measuring piston 16 starts measurement. A location detector 21 is set to detect that the valve disk piston 2 has reached a close location as a pulse signal S 4 between pulse signals S 3 4 and S 2 5. The relation with other pulse signals S 1 1, S 2 2, etc., is indicated by the order of S 1 1, S 2 2, S 3 3, S 3 4, S 4 . S 2 5, and S 1 6. By determining the detection order of these pulse signals, it is possible confirm the operating conditions of the valve disk piston 12 and the measuring piston 16 and whether approach time is reliably secured or not, and it is possible to perform accurate measurement.
