CONSTITUTION:A catalyst obtd. by further adding an alkaline earth metal to a heterogeneous cobalt catalyst prepd. by supporting dicobalt octacarbonyl on an inorg. oxide is used. Aldehyde, carboxylic acid or alcohols are synthesized by the hydroformylation reaction of olefin represented by reaction formula I (where each of R1-R4 is H or an org. substituent).
