The effects of different water and nitrogen managements on yield and nitrogen use efficiency in hybrid rice of China

TL;DR: The correlation analysis revealed that the grain yield was significantly related to ammonium assimilation enzyme activities, photosynthetic rate, and root activity, respectively, at several rice growth stages, and suggested that the N application strategy should be adjusted according to different irrigation regimes in order to obtain the highest yield and the best NUE.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of wheat straw mulch application and nitrogen management on rice root growth, dry matter accumulation and rice quality in soils of different fertility

TL;DR: Correlation analysis showed that the rice quality was extremely significantly positively correlated with the root morphology indexes of the brown rice and protein contents and was significantly or extremely negatively correlation with the length–width ratio, percentage of chalky kernels, chalkiness degree and amylose content.
Journal ArticleDOI

High-yielding traits of heavy panicle varieties under triangle planting geometry: A new plant spatial configuration for hybrid rice in China

TL;DR: In this paper, a study was conducted to evaluate grain yield performance and yield component changes of heavy panicle varieties under triangle planting geometry (TPG) where plants form a dense intra-hill, sparse inter-hill group structure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Coordinating Postanthesis Carbon and Nitrogen Metabolism of Hybrid Rice through Different Irrigation and Nitrogen Regimes

TL;DR: In this article, the role of postanthesis carbon and nitrogen metabolism of hybrid rice in increasing yield and nitrogen utilization efficiency (NUE) was explored, and different irrigation and nitrogen fertilization regimes were established to investigate the relationship of C-N metabolism characteristics, yield, and NUE.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improving Rice Yields and Nitrogen Use Efficiency by Optimizing Nitrogen Management and Applications to Rapeseed in Rapeseed-Rice Rotation System

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of the N application rates and the N fertilizer management strategies for rapeseed and rice were examined, respectively, in relation to the photosynthetic productivity and yields of hybrid rice.
