Thermal-ageing characteristics of dry-type transformer epoxy composite insulation:

TL;DR: In this paper, the ageing characteristics of epoxy resin composite insulation in dry-type transformers in high-temperature environments were studied, where glass fibre-reinforced epoxy resins were placed in a hot ai...

Partial discharge damage mechanisms in laminated oil-paper insulation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the whole process from discharge initiation to breakdown of an oil-paper insulation model and found that during each stage of partial discharge, the area of carbon marking on the surface of the insulation paper decreases gradually from high voltage electrode to the ground electrode on a layer-by-layer basis, the extent of damage to the fibre surface and molecular chain is reduced, and the tendency to carbonisation is weakened.
Journal ArticleDOI

The microscopic morphology of insulation pressboard: an image processing perspective

TL;DR: In this article, the changes in microscopic morphology of the pressboard under surface partial discharge conditions, some methods such as enhancement, denoising, segmentation, optimization, edge detection, expansion, and corrosion were used to extract the fiber width, hole size, and surface roughness.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of the oil-paper insulation aging on partial discharge characteristics in a hemispherical surface model

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of aging on surface discharge of the pressboard on the shielding electrode at the end of bushing, a thermal aging preparation methods of different aging degrees of pressboard samples, surface defect model, and the associated hemisphere are designed and the step-up method is used for subsequent experimental work.

Effect of Aging on Material Properties and Partial Discharge Characteristics of Insulating Pressboard

TL;DR: In this article, the results showed that pre-discharge occurred mainly in the oil gap between the hemispherical electrode edge and the pressboard and that aging had no obvious effect on the discharge characteristics at the initial partial discharge stage.
