Experimental observation of dominant propagation of the ion-acoustic slow mode in a negative ion plasma and its application

TL;DR: In this article, different characteristics of ion acoustic waves were experimentally observed in two types of Xe+−F− double plasmas at different electron temperatures, and the slow mode, which had been considered not to dominate the wave propagation, was observed to be dominant for the higher electron temperature (around 1.5 eV).
Journal ArticleDOI

Cross Sections for Electron Collisions with Methane

TL;DR: In this article, cross section data are compiled from the literature for electron collisions with methane (CH4) molecules and cross sections are collected and reviewed for total scattering, elastic scattering, momentum transfer, excitations of rotational and vibrational states, dissociation, ionization, and dissociative attachment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Observation of sheath modification in laboratory dusty plasma

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the role of charged dust particles in the ion sheath structure of a double-plasminar device and found that the average charge on a dust grain decreases when dust density in the plasma volume is increased.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characteristics of ion-acoustic solitary wave in a laboratory dusty plasma under the influence of ion-beam

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of ion beam and charged dust impurity on the propagation of dust ion-acoustic (DIA) solitary wave (SW) in an unmagnetized plasma consisting of Boltzmann distributed electrons, positive ions, positive ion beam, and negatively charged immobile dusts in a double plasma device was studied.
