Journal ArticleDOI
Chemical and biochemical studies on carbohydrate esters. III. Antitumor activity of unsaturated fatty acids and their ester derivatives against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma.
TL;DR: In this paper, a series of normal saturated monocarboxylic acids and their ester derivatives were examined with Ehrlich ascites carcinoma in mice, and the effect was evaluated with total packed cell volume ratio on the 7th day after the tumor implantation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Studies on the Water Soluble Constituents of Lichens. II. Antitumor Polysaccharides of Lasallia, Usnea, and Cladonia Species
Yoshihiro Nishikawa,Kazuhiro Ohki,Katsuo Takahashi,Goichi Kurono,Fumiko Fukuoka,Misako Emori +5 more
TL;DR: From six species of lichens, a variety of polysaccharide fractions were prepared and their antitumor effects were tested against the sarcoma 180 implanted in mice, and it has been revealed that complex heteroglycans consisting chiefly of mannose, galactose, and glucose occur commonly as predominant, cold-water solublepolysaccharides, together with a small amount of α-glucan presumed to be PC-3 type.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regioselective Syntheses of Mono-O-acylglucoses
Kimihiro Yoshimoto,Kazuko Tahara,Shigeyuki Suzuki,Kazumi Sasaki,Yoshihiro Nishikawa,Yoshisuke Tsuda +5 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemical and Biochemical Studies on Carbohydrate Esters. IX. Antitumor Effects of Selectively Fatty Acylated Products of Maltose
TL;DR: The maltose-[high]-esters of stearic, palmitic, and myristic acids failed to exert marked activity upon this solid tumor by either administration route, and were compared with that of the analogous derivative of sucrose by survival bioassay (intraperitoneal administration).
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemical and Biochemical Studies on Carbohydrate Esters. V. Anti Ehrlich Ascites Tumor Effect and Chromatographic Behaviors of Fatty Acyl Monoesters of Sucrose and Trehalose
Yoshihiro Nishikawa,Kimihiro Yoshimoto,Mutsuko Okada,Tetsuro Ikekawa,Noriko Abiko,Fumiko Fukuoka +5 more
TL;DR: All the preparations obtained proved to exert considerable antitumor effect against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma in mice by intraperitoneal administration.
