Theory of thermophoresis of large aerosol particles

TL;DR: In this article, Onsager's principle of kinetic coefficient symmetry is used to build a uniform theory of motion of aerosol particles and gases in the presence of temperature gradients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diffusiophoresis of large aerosol particles

TL;DR: The theory of diffusiophoresis of small aerosol particles was developed by Derjaguin and Bakanov (1, 2) taking into consideration the fact that the velocity distribution of the molecules impinging upon the particle is not disturbed by the presence of an aerosol particle as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Motion of small aerosol particle in a light field

TL;DR: In this article, a theory for the photophoretic motion of a small aerosol particle whose radius is much smaller than the wavelength of the light is derived, and the effects of the incomplete accommodation of the energy and momentum of the gas molecules in collisions with the surface of the particle are also taken into account.
