Over the past few years, Cognitive Radio (CR) has been considered as a demanding concept for improving the utilization of limited radio spectrum resources for future wireless communications and mobile computing. Since a member of Cognitive Radio Networks may join or leave the network at any time, the issue of supporting secure communication in CRNs becomes more critical than for the other conventional wireless networks. This work thus proposes a secure trust-based authentication approach for CRNs. A CR node’s trust value is determined from its previous trust behavior in the network and depending on this trust value, it is decided whether or not this CR node will obtain access to the Primary User’s free spectrum. The security analysis is performed to guarantee that the proposed approach achieves security proof.

Trust-Based Authentication for Secure Communication in Cognitive Radio Networks

The advent of mobile ad hoc (MANET) network had spurred in a new era of communication where users (nodes) communicate with each other via a self configuring infrastructure less network of mobile devices connected by wireless links. Nodes can participate both as a host as well as a router willing to forward packets for other nodes. So here arises the need of a routing protocol. Now the dynamic topology of the network owing to the node mobility becomes the most challenging part of a routing protocol as it demands a protocol which quickly adapts to topology changes with minimizing control traffic such as periodic update message because of limited resource like storage capacity, battery power and bandwidth. In this paper, we have proposed a new routing scheme, Administrator and Trust Based Secure Routing in MANET (ATSR) which provides routing by making an important use of a parameter, trust, an integer value, helping in the selection of administrator inside the network for routing. The message confidentiality and integrity has also being implemented. The simulation result shows the efficiency, lustiness and trustworthiness of our proposed routing scheme.

Administrator and Trust Based Secure Routing in MANET

Wireless spectrum is precious, so there are always requirements of dynamic shared spectrum techniques and an intelligent wireless communication system, such as Cognitive Radio Network (CRN). Although, CRN provides awareness, reliability, adaptability, high quality services and flexibility to its users but it has also opens the door for lots of threats and attacks. In this paper, various possible attacks and threats along with the possible solutions are discussed. This article has also proposed a trust based security algorithm enabling cognitive radio to access the distributed computation, storage, and resources available in cognitive radio environment. Proposed trust based algorithm is based on the location awareness and distance between the mobile user. Trust is calculated from the actual received power and trust metrics are determined by combining the requirements of the trustworthiness and the QoS of the links with the route. In this algorithm, three dimensional (3D) coordinates system is used to verify the location of the primary user and malicious user. Proposed algorithm has defined the trust factor of various users on the basis of trustworthiness. The simulation results have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed trust algorithm for all three types of user i.e. primary, secondary and malicious user, in the terms of both security and performance.

Digital Signature-Based Secure Communication in Cognitive Radio Networks

Cognitive Radio (CR) is considered to be a necessary mechanism to detect whether a particular segment of the radio spectrum is currently in use, and to rapidly occupy the temporarily unused spectrum without interfering with the transmissions of other users. As Cognitive Radio has dynamic properties, so a member of Cognitive Radio Networks may join or leave the network at any time. These properties mean that the issue of secure communication in CRNs becomes more critical than for other conventional wireless networks. This work thus proposes a trust-based security system for community-based CRNs. A CR node's trust value is analyzed according to its previous behavior in the network and, depending on this trust value, it is decided whether this member node can take part in the communication of CRNs. For security purposes, we have designed our model to ensure that the proposed approach is secure in different contexts.

Trust-Based Security for Community-Based Cognitive Radio Networks

There are many difficulties to carry out node authentication in dynamic and self-organized adhoc network. A Trust-value Updated Model (TUM) in Layered and Grouped adhoc network Structure is adopted in this paper, and based on which, we put forward a novel authentication mechanism of leader agent and member surveillance, which can cut down the data traffic of authentication between nodes, and the calculating complexity is reduced greatly, hence the node authentication efficiency is improved, the realtime communication between the nodes is ensured.

A Novel Authentication Scheme Based on Trust-value Updated Model in Adhoc Network

Abstract With the help of big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other technologies, the informatization and intelligence of the wisdom medical have been gradually realized. However, with the transmission and storage of massive amounts of medical images in the cloud, information security issues have become increasingly prominent. The privacy of patients is at risk of disclosure, theft and tampering, which has become an important challenge restricting the development of wisdom medical. How to protect the personal information of patients in the cloud environment has become an urgent problem to be solved. Medical image watermarking technology is an effective method to solve this problem. Combining the characteristics of Tent chaos and Henon chaos, this paper designed a Tent-Henon-Map double chaos watermarking encryption method and designed a medical image encryption watermarking algorithm based on ridgelet-DCT transform. The watermark images were encrypted by the Tent-Henon-Map double chaos which had the characteristics of sensitive initial values and large key space. Then, the feature vectors of the medical images were extracted through ridgelet-DCT transform. On the basis of ordinary watermarking technology, combined with zero watermarking, third-party concepts, and cryptographic technology, watermarking had a good ability to resist image processing attacks. The experimental results showed that the key space of the algorithm was $${10}^{116}$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msup> <mml:mrow> <mml:mn>10</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> <mml:mn>116</mml:mn> </mml:msup> </mml:math> , which had better encryption and hard to crack. The time of watermark embedding and extraction were only 0.336 s and 0.439 s, with lower computational cost. And under high-strength conventional attacks and geometric attacks, the NC values of the algorithm were all greater than 0.55, which could effectively extract watermark information. It shown that the algorithm proposed had good robustness against conventional and geometric attacks It shown that the algorithm proposed had good robustness against conventional and geometric attacks, while taking into account the security.
