Journal ArticleDOI

The electronic states of polyfluorene copolymers with alternating donor-acceptor units.

TL;DR: The semiempirical quantum-chemical (ZINDO) method can assign the characteristic bands of the "camel-back" absorption spectrum to one charge transfer state at lower energy localized on the TBT unit, and one delocalized excitonic state at higher energy corresponding to the pi-conjugated electron system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrafast excitation transfer and trapping in a thin polymer film

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the transient absorption anisotropy of a polythiophene polymer in a thin film on a femtosecond time scale, with a fastest component characterized by an ∼40 fs time constant.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamics of the electric field-assisted charge carrier photogeneration in ladder-type poly(para-phenylene) at a low excitation intensity.

TL;DR: Electric field-assisted charge carrier photogeneration in a ladder-type methyl-substituted poly(paraphenylene) was investigated by ultrafast absorption spectroscopy at low excitation intensity and the dissociation of excitons into electron-hole pairs occurs from the vibrationally relaxed excited state throughout its lifetime.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrafast light-induced charge pair formation dynamics in poly[3-(2 '-methoxy-5 ' octylphenyl)thiophene]

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated charge pair photogeneration in poly[3-(2)-methoxy-5(')octylphenyl)thiophene (POMeOPT) film with and without an external electric field.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrafast dynamics of singlet-singlet and singlet-triplet exciton annihilation in poly(3-2 '-methoxy-5 '-octylphenyl)thiophene films

TL;DR: In this paper, Singlet-singlet (S-S) and singlet-triplet (ST) annihilation was studied in poly(3-2)-methoxy-5(')octylphenyl)thiophene films.
