This invention relates to compositions and methods for fluid hydrocarbon product, and more specifically, to compositions and methods for fluid hydrocarbon product via catalytic pyrolysis. Some embodiments relate to methods for the production of specific aromatic products (e.g., benzene, toluene, naphthalene, xylene, etc.) via catalytic pyrolysis. Some such methods may involve the use of a composition comprising a mixture of a solid hydrocarbonaceous material and a heterogeneous pyrolytic catalyst component. In some embodiments, the mixture may be pyrolyzed at high temperatures (e.g., between 500 °C and 1000 °C). The pyrolysis may be conducted for an amount of time at least partially sufficient for production of discrete, identifiable biofuel compounds. Some embodiments involve heating the mixture of catalyst and hydrocarbonaceous material at high rates (e.g., from about 50 °C per second to about 1000 0C per second). The methods described herein may also involve the use of specialized catalysts. For example, in some cases, zeolite catalysts may be used; optionally, the catalysts used herein may have high silica to alumina molar ratios. In some instances, the composition fed to the pyrolysis reactor may have a relatively high catalyst to hydrocarbonaceous material mass ratio (e.g., from about 5: 1 to about 20:1).

Disclosed herein are methods and systems for upgrading (for example, removing heteroatoms, metals, or metalloids) an oil composition derived or extracted from a biomass. The upgraded oil composition can be used to make a desired product, for example, a fuel product.

Methods of preparing oil compositions for fuel refining

In processing of biomass by catalytic cracking in a fluidized catalytic cracker having a reaction zone, a separation zone, a stripping zone, and a regeneration zone, the feedstock oil containing the biomass is processed in the reaction zone using a catalyst containing 10 to 50 mass % of ultrastable Y-type zeolite under the conditions: outlet temperature of the reaction zone 580 to 680° C., catalyst/oil ratio 10 to 40 wt/wt, reaction pressure 1 to 3 kg/cm 2 G, and contact time of the feedstock oil with the catalyst in the reaction zone 0.1 to 1.0 sec, and the catalyst is then treated in the regeneration zone under the conditions: regeneration zone temperature 640 to 720° C., regeneration zone pressure 1 to 3 kg/cm 2 G, and exhaust gas oxygen concentration at the regeneration zone outlet 0 to 3 mol %.

A process for the preparation of a biogasoline component comprising: (I) obtaining at least one bio-oil and, if necessary, liquefying the bio-oil component; (II) adding the bio-oil in liquid form to an FCC unit along with at least one mineral oil; (III) cracking the components added to the FCC unit to form at least a bio-LPG fraction and a bio-naphtha fraction; (IV) alkylating or catalytically polymerising at least part of the bio-LPG fraction; and combining at least a part of the product of step (IV) with at least a part of the bio-naphtha fraction to form a bio-gasoline component. The use of marine oil to form bio-gasoline is also claimed.

Also disclosed is a method for producing such a fuel. Further disclosed is a gasoline or liquefied fuel gas which contains a base material derived from a biomass and exhibits excellent exhaust gas purification performance, fuel efficiency performance and running performance.
