SOLUTION: The ink for ink jet recording composed of a coloring agent, a wetting agent, a surfactant and an osmotic agent dispersed into water is constituted so that viscosity-increasing ratio (mPa s/%) accompanying water evaporation of the ink is ≤5.0 until water evaporation amount to total ink weight becomes ≤30 wt.% and the viscosity-increasing ratio is >50 when water evaporation amount is between 30 wt.% and 45 wt.% and the ink is further formulated so that average particle diameter of the coloring agent in the ink at the point where the viscosity-increasing ratio exceeds 50 is ≤5 times based on initial average particle diameter and the average particle diameter becomes ≤0.8 μm.
