The coumarin conjugate: synthesis, photophysical properties and the ratiometric fluorescence response to water content of organic solvent

TL;DR: In this article, a new fluorescent probe based on coumarin conjugate has been synthesized which shows high quantum yield because of strong ICT effect, and the absorption and fluorescence spectra of probe were measured in a variety of solvents and the Stokes shifts were found to be in linear relationship with the orientation polarizability of the solvalents.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dimethylamine substituted bisbenzocoumarins: solvatochromic, mechanochromic and acidochromic properties

TL;DR: In this paper, dimethylamine substituted bisbenzocoumarin (DB-Cn) derivatives are synthesized and their optical properties are investigated, which reveal that the initial crystalline states are transformed to amorphous states under various external stimuli.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and studies of axial chiral bisbenzocoumarins: Aggregation-induced emission enhancement properties and aggregation-annihilation circular dichroism effects.

TL;DR: It was found that BBzC1 with ester groups on 3,3'-positions exhibit an abnormal aggregation-annihilation circular dichroism (AACD) phenomenon, which could be caused by the decrease of the dihedral angle between adjacent benzocoumarin rings in the aggregation state.
Journal ArticleDOI

Binaphthanol-based organic fluorophores with color tunability and their optical properties

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of dimethylamine substituted binaphthanol-based organic fluorophores were designed and synthesized, and two compounds (DB-4 and DB-5) showed aggregation-induced emission properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Preparation of Enantiopure [6]- and [7]Helicenes from Binaphthanol.

TL;DR: This work provides a new method for preparation of enantiopure helicenes that could be easily obtained via silica gel column chromatography without the use of expensive HPLC or chiral resolution reagents.
