Proceedings ArticleDOI

Articulatory-to-Acoustic Conversion with Cascaded Prediction of Spectral and Excitation Features Using Neural Networks.

TL;DR: Experimental results show that LSTM-RNN models can achieve better objective and subjective performance in articulatory-to-spectral conversion than DNNs and Gaussian mixture models (GMMs).
Journal ArticleDOI

Articulatory-to-acoustic conversion using BLSTM-RNNs with augmented input representation

TL;DR: The results of experiment show that BLSTM-RNNs can achieve a better objective and subjective performance than deep neural networks (DNN) and Gaussian mixture models (GMM) in articulatory-to-acoustic conversion and that the proposed methods for integrating linguistic representation and utilizing a cascaded prediction strategy can further improve the accuracy of acoustic feature prediction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Statistical Parametric Speech Synthesis Using Generalized Distillation Framework

TL;DR: Experimental results show that this method can achieve better accuracy of acoustic feature prediction and produce more natural synthetic speech than conventional BLSTM–RNN-based acoustic modeling with single-task or multitask learning.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

LIP movement generation using restricted Boltzmann machines for visual speech synthesis

TL;DR: Experimental results show that the proposed methods can improve the quality of generated lip images significantly and the method of using DBN model structure and raw pixel features achieves the best performance in the authors' experiments.
