An electric power-steering device has a speed-reducing mechanism (17) for reducing the speed of an output shaft (16) of an electric motor (15). The speed-reducing mechanism (17) has an internal gear (39) engaged and rotated with the output shaft (16) and an external gear (40) with which the internal gear (39) internally meshes. A drive pulley (41) rotatable together with the external gear (40) and a driven pulley (42) provided so as to surround a steering shaft are connected by an endless belt (43). Speed reduction is obtained by the internal gear (39) and the external gear (40), and the speed-reducing mechanism (17) as a whole achieves a high reduction ratio without greatly reducing the diameter of the drive pulley (41).

The car power source apparatus switches a pair of contactors (driving battery relays) connected to positive and negative output sides of a driving battery via a switching circuit with an auxiliary battery as power supply. The switching circuit is provided with a voltage detection circuit to detect auxiliary battery voltage, a series switching circuit to connect coils of the pair of contactors in series and switch both contactor contacts on, and a parallel switching circuit to connect coils of the pair of contactors in parallel and switch both contactor contacts on. When auxiliary battery voltage is higher than a set voltage, it connects the pair of contactor coils in series to switch the contacts on via the series switching circuit, and when auxiliary battery voltage is lower than a set voltage, it connects the pair of contactor coils in parallel to switch the contacts on via the parallel switching circuit.

Charging and discharging controller for secondary cell

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the variation of charging/discharging characteristics due to the temperature difference between unit batteries by providing main refrigerant passages exposed to the unit batteries in storage battery pack and auxiliary refrigerant passages connected with downstream end sections to the main refrigerant passages at the positions corresponding to the midstream or downstream of the storage battery pack. SOLUTION: Multiple unit batteries 1 are arranged in a line in the same axial direction in partitioned battery hold sections 3 to form storage battery rows. Main refrigerant passages 5 are formed with the bulkheads of the battery hold sections 3 and space sections between the storage battery pack, and auxiliary refrigerant passages 4 are formed between the battery hold sections 3 in the horizontal direction. A refrigerant such as air is fed to a storage battery group, the fed refrigerant passes through the main refrigerant passages 5 to cool all unit batteries 1 of the storage battery pack arranged in the battery hold sections 3. The refrigerant flowing into the auxiliary refrigerant passages 4 merges with the main refrigerant passages 5 through the slits 4a formed on the midstream and downstream.

Power supply device and its heat radiating method

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect abnormal temperature rise of a cell, by connecting in series temperature sensors whose electric resistance rapidly increases during a temperature rise, and measuring total resistance of the temperature sensors. SOLUTION: External lead wires 47, 48 are connected respectively with a minus terminal P and a plus terminal Q of a holding piece 43, and connected with a resistance measuring device 49. When at least one of 126 cells receives abnormal temperature rise, resistance of a PTC sensor 14 which is adhered to the cell increases extremely, and the resistance measuring device 49 detects the abnormality. Due to a simple structure in which number of external lead wires 47, 48 is limited, abnormal temperature rise of all cells in a cell source device can be detected. In addition, abnormal temperature rise detecting method and a device which maintain safety and do not cause heating problem of the temperature sensor are provided.

SOLUTION: A battery pack is constructed by connecting a plurality of secondary cells serially or in parallel. In a replacing method of secondary cell, replacing a part of the secondary cells of which some defect is detected in a cell for replacement, the defect of the secondary cell is decided (S21) at each unit of the voltage detection block, by detecting the voltage Vi(n) at each prescribed voltage detection block, and the cell decided as defective and to be replaced is replaced with a cell for replacement at each unit of the voltage detection block.
