A review on pore structure characterization in tight sandstones

TL;DR: In this paper, the pore size distribution and 3D pore connectivity are evaluated from NMR and XCT analysis, and the NMR spectrum is also linked to the macroscopic performance, and pore network is determined from N 2 GA, and fractal theory is introduced to explain the irregularity and heterogeneity of pore throat structure characteristics.
Journal ArticleDOI

Review of diagenetic facies in tight sandstones: Diagenesis, diagenetic minerals, and prediction via well logs

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of diagenesis and diagenetic minerals on reservoir quality in tight sandstones, and established a model for prediction of Diagenetic facies via well logs, as assessed from peer reviewed papers in the literature as well as from the authors' personal experiences.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation of pore structure and petrophysical property in tight sandstones

TL;DR: In this article, the pore structure was comprehensively evaluated and characterized by linking NMR T2 spectrum with high pressure mercury intrusion (HPMI) analysis, and three typical types of pore structures were recognized through thin section, SEM analysis combined with the capillary curve and NMRT2 spectrum, and the microscopic and macroscopic characteristics of the three pore shapes were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

A review on the applications of image logs in structural analysis and sedimentary characterization

TL;DR: In this paper, a thoroughgoing review focusing on the recent applications of borehole image logs for sedimentological and structural description and interpretation, and aims to establish image log facies which can provide guidelines in sedimentary reservoir interpretation.
