TL;DR: Aqueous bleach solutions can be made by directing a spray of water onto a bulk or shaped solid (brick, tablet, block, etc) comprising a continuous solid phase of an encapsulated source of active halogen bleach or a solid comprising a source of an oxidizing active halogens bleach as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: Aqueous bleach solutions can be made by directing a spray of water onto a bulk or shaped solid (brick, tablet, block, etc) comprising a continuous solid phase of an encapsulated source of an active halogen bleach or a solid comprising a source of an oxidizing active halogen bleach and an encapsulated oxidizing halogen bleach source Such shaped solids can be used to dispense uniform quantities of an aqueous bleach concentrate to bleaching locus such as a washing machine The tablets can be made from the encapsulated bleach or from a powder mixture of a particulate, granulated or powdered unencapsulated source of active oxidizing bleach and an encapsulated source of active oxidizing bleach by forming the powder mixture into a desired shape The presence of the encapsulate in the solid with the powder reduces the tendency of the solid to absorb water which can be wicked through the solid to pass water through the solid into adjacent solids Substantial proportions of absorbed water can cause the tablets to crack, crumble and to periodically dispense uneven, substantially large and undesirable concentrations of active bleach into a wash or bleach cycle

Abstract: An insect trap using attractant light, comprising a source of light and a housing can be mounted on a vertical surface or placed near a ceiling surface. The housing and the source of light cooperate to form an upwardly facing opening for the facilitated entry of flying insect pests and for the reflection of light onto the vertical surface. Insects that enter the trap are immobilized on a surface within the trap. Cooperation between direct radiant light, reflected light and an upwardly facing entrance for insects substantially increase capture rates.

TL;DR: In this paper, a solution is created in which in mechanical dishwashing in commercial dishwashing machines the formation of a starch deposit on the dishes is prevented in a sustained manner, in which a cleaning agent (2, 19) and a further active compound reinforcing the action of the cleaning agent are added to the rinsing or washing solution of the dishwashing machine.
Abstract: In a process for mechanical dishwashing in commercial dishwashing machines (23), in which a cleaning agent (2, 19) and a further active compound reinforcing the action of the cleaning agent are added to the rinsing or washing solution of the dishwashing machine (23), a solution is to be created in which in mechanical dishwashing in commercial dishwashing machines the formation of a starch deposit on the dishes is prevented in a sustained manner. This is achieved by the cleaning agent added (2, 19) being a low-alkaline cleaner, in particular based on phosphate or NTA, and as a further active compound a cleaning booster (5) containing an enzyme, preferably a carbohydrate-degrading enzyme, in particular containing amylase being added. In this case, furthermore, the possibility is provided of compensating for the degradation or decomposition of the enzyme during idle phases (11) of the dishwashing machine operation by maintenance doses (17, 18) or single batch doses prior to a renewed active washing phase being entered.

TL;DR: In this paper, a process for producing acidic aqueous solutions of melamine-aldehyde type polymers, and particularly Melamine-formaldehyde polymer, which have significantly reduced levels of free aldehyde.
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for producing acidic aqueous solutions of melamine-aldehyde type polymers, and particularly melamine-formaldehyde polymer, which have significantly reduced levels of free aldehyde. The process involves the addition of hydrogen peroxide and/or iron in the form of ferric ion to the acidification stage of the production of melamine-formaldehyde polymers. When the process is conducted at elevated temperatures, in the range of 150-180° F., iron is not required to cause destruction of the free formaldehyde. At lower temperatures the presence of iron may be required to achieve satisfactory rates of reaction. The process reduces levels of free formaldehyde to less than 0.1% by weight, such that the polymer solution may be used in a variety of applications with reduced environmental risk.

TL;DR: In this article, a surge dosing (SD) is used to increase the active ingredient concentration in a rinsing machine during an interruption in operation by adding active ingredient during the time of interruption according to an e function.
Abstract: In a rinsing machine, the concentration of an active ingredient is kept constant by regular addition of active ingredient during operation. In the case of an interruption in operation, there is no addition of active ingredient so that the concentration (C) of the active ingredient reduces during the time of interruption time (t1) according to an e function. After the interruption has ended, a surge dosing (SD) follows, during which the active ingredient concentration (C) is raised to the initial value (C0) again. During the interruption time (t1), a counter is counted up non-linearly temporally, the counting function being complementary to the temporal course of the concentration (C). When the interruption has ended, the counter state of the counter is counted down linearly in order to bring about the surge dosing (SD).
