Abstract: A router routes data packets. The router includes input physical channels for incrementally receiving portions of the data packets, and output physical channels. The router further includes data buffers, coupled with the input and output physical channels, for storing the portions of the data packets. The router further includes control circuitry, coupled with the input and output physical channels and the data buffers, for generating virtual channel assignments that assign virtual channels to the data packets, and generating physical channel assignments that assign the output physical channels to the virtual channels. Each of the assignments is generated in response to queued arrival and credit events. The portions of the data packets are forwarded from the data buffers to the output physical channels according to the generate virtual and physical channel assignments.

Abstract: A module connection assembly connects modules in a torus configuration that can be changed remotely. In particular, a single module can be added to or deleted from the configuration by remotely switching from conducting paths that provide end-around electrical paths to conducting paths that provide pass-through electrical paths. The assembly includes two backplanes, a first set of module connectors for electrically connecting modules to one of the backplanes, and a second set of module connectors for electrically connecting modules to the other backplane. The assembly further includes configuration controllers. Each configuration controller selects between end-around electrical paths that electrically connect multiple module connectors of the first set to each other, and pass-through electrical paths that electrically connect module connectors of the first set to module connectors of the second set. Each configuration controller operates as a remotely configurable switch that configures a topology formed by the backplanes and the module connectors. In particular, by adding a single module, the topology can be expanded incrementally.

The method is performed as follows: at first, if there is a request for location, the approximate position of a mobile station is determined by sector information, the time of arrival, and a time difference of arrival; then, the transmission of a locating pilot frequency for an adjacent assistant locating apparatus is initiated, and in the case of the transmission of the assistant locating pilot frequency, the time difference of arrival is measured once again; at the end of the measurement of the mobile station, the locating transmission of the assistant locating apparatus is closed; the assistant locating apparatus is requested to report the result of NLOS identification; with the measurement of the assistant locating pilot frequency by the mobile station and the result of NLOS identification, the position of the mobile station is estimated to acquire a more accurate position of the mobile station.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for retransmitting data in a mobile communication system wherein a receiver determines whether an initial data block received from a transmitter has an error. Upon detecting an error from the initial data block, the receiver estimates a current channel state and determines a retransmission frequency and a power level of the initial data block according to the estimated current channel state. Thereafter, the receiver transmits a retransmission request message of the initial data block together with the determined retransmission frequency and the determined power level to the transmitter. The transmitter retransmits the initial data block as many times as the retransmission frequency at the requested power level. The receiver then determines whether the retransmitted data blocks have errors, and provides the retransmitted data blocks to an upper layer upon failure to detect errors from the retransmitted data blocks.

Abstract: The invention discloses a pilot synchronization channel structure for mobile communication systems. The channel structure includes a pilot channel overlapping a synchronization channel (SCH), defined in the wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) protocol. Each frame of the pilot channel consists of plural time slots. Each time slot is packed with pre-selected pilot symbols, after spread spectrum and scrambling. The overlap can be defined as search code of one symbol length with pilot signal of m−1 symbols length by intermittent overlap. The overlap can also be defined as search code of one symbol length with pilot signal of m symbols length by continuous overlap. The invention combines organically both CDMA 2000 and WCDMA standards to provide better pilot and synchronization functions.

Abstract: Asymmetric, compact non-superconducting magnets for magnetic resonance imaging are provided. The magnets have a homogeneous region (the “dsv”) which can be located close to one end of the magnet so as to reduce the sensation of claustrophobia experienced by patients undergoing MRI procedures. The magnets can be designed using a hybrid process in which current density analysis is performed to obtain an initial coil configuration which is then refined using non-linear optimization techniques to obtain a final coil configuration. The hybrid method can incorporate various constraints, including, the location and size of the dsv, the uniformity and strength of the B 0 field, stray field strengths outside of the non-superconducting magnet, and field strengths within the magnet's coils. The hybrid technique can also be used to design compact symmetric non-superconducting magnets.

Abstract: A transmission method of several services combination is disclosed. During service initialization, each party of a communication establishes one same transport format combination set table (TFCS) including all transport format combinations (TFCs). When a transmitter is transmitting one service according to a specific TFC, it also transmits a transport format combination indicator (TFCI) corresponding to the TFC. Receiver retrieves TFC of received service from the TFCS based on received TFCI. The TFCS table is divided into several subtables according to specific channel features. A TFCI is only used to indicate a TFC in a subtable but not a subtable. When one service is transmitted according to a TFC in a specific subtable, the receiver decides the subtable that the TFC being included based on the specific channel feature of this TFC transmission, and retrieves TFC of received data from the subtable using received TFCI.

Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for estimating flat fading channel in CDMA communication system, said method is implemented by using an adaptive forward prediction technique based on lattice filter and maximum likelihood technique of Viterbi algorithm. The adaptive lattice filter is used to carry out prediction of LS criteria on channel fading, and a maximum likelihood detection technique completes Viterbi algorithm in accordance with a channel fading value obtained by the prediction, thus obtaining final estimation and decision about the transmitting signals. The present invention has the advantages that it can obtain accurate result for channel estimation and sequence decision when it operates in the fast fading channel, and overcome fast fading influence due to motion speed up of mobile station, thereby satisfying mobile station speed and corresponding receiving performance required in 3G mobile communication.

A spread section in the transmitting side spread user data with the large spread code set which its number is larger than code size of normal spread code. A de-spread processing section in the receiving side de-spread user data with the large spread code set which its number is larger than code size of normal spread code. The de-spread processing section in the receiving side uses union detection and interference suppress technique.

The handset includes a main controller, a display, a microphone, a speaker, a keyboard and a low power wireless transceiver module. The low power wireless transceiver module could be set inside the host phone or outside the host phone. The host phone and the handset make wireless connection and communicate with each other through the transceiver module in accordance with the Bluetooth protocol or the HomeRF protocol. The host phone and the handset both could access the public switched telephone network (PSTN) via a main phone of a home wireless telephone.

The method, according to a system real working state at a specific time burst, dynamically determines offsets of training sequences selected from a basic code, and the generated user training sequences are allocated to each subscriber at the specific time burst. The method makes said offset as long as possible when dynamically selecting the training sequences. The said system read working state can be the real subscribers number at a specific time burst and/or the channel estimation states of every subscriber before the specific time burst. The invention can obtain better effect of channel estimation, thereby decreasing code error rate, enhancing quality of receiving signal in the system and improving communication performance.

Abstract: The invention discloses a signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) measurement method. The method measures interference power (I) of a single-path signal after the received signal is demodulated by the single-path demodulators of multipath receiving device at the receiving end. The total interference power is obtained by equipartition combining with the measured interference power of each single-path signal. The signal power (S) is obtained by measuring after maximum ratio combination of each single-path signal. The SIR of the received signal is the division of the signal power and the total interference power. An apparatus, implementing mentioned method, sets the interference power measurement-device in the RAKE combiner and the signal power measurement-device after the RAKE combiner. In this way, the interference measurement can effectively provide more information and can more really response to the channel variation.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a kind of inject synchronous narrowband phase locked loop (ISNRPLL) circuit, including a synchronous oscillating circuit composed by the connecting of an inject synchronous narrowband reproducible voltage controlled oscillator (ISNRVCO) and an exclusive OR frequeny doubling circuit, a phase locked loop circuit composed by the connection of digital phase discriminators, charge pumps and loop filters, and D triggers used for outputting data. The ISNRVCO circuit does not ask much of the syntonic loop, and can be implemented by integrating an inductance on chips. Preferably, it can be integrated completely by using the deep sub-micron digital CMOS techniques and has little external components. Based on the result of system simulation, the ISNRVCO circuit has a great improvement on the performances such as capture range, capture time and phase yawp compared with the general phase locked loop construct. With its great advantages, it can be used as GHz level fast clock recovery integrate circuit.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for adaptive digital predistortion in a radio transmitter, characterized in that said method comprising the steps of: a) preforming the non-linear transformation of a input baseband signal contrary to the characteristic of the transmission channel by the digital predistorter; b) the predistorted signal being amplified by the power amplifier after up conversion; c) feeding a part of the signals output from the PA back into an adaptive controller through a coupler; d) the adaptive controller preforming the digital signal process of the feedback signal to obtain a radiation energy of outband; e) updating the parameters of the predistorter using the method of optimization of multi-paramaters with the radiation energy of outband as a objective function. The adaptive digital predistortion system for broadband radio transmitter can pre-distort the signals to be transmitted to eliminate the non-linear characteristic of the transmission channel and to suppress the radiation energy of outband of the output signal. The predistortion system also can adaptively adjust the predistortion parameters using optimal algorithm of multi-paramaters according to non-linear slow-variety of the transmission channel.

Abstract: The invention discloses a method for improving channel estimation accuracy of wireless communication system having uplink synchronization and downlink synchronization. The method use a code group with zero correlation window as a pilot code or spread the pilot code with the code group having zero correlation window, wherein the width of zero correlation window of the code group is larger than a maximum channel transmission impact response length of the system, and the number of the codes is larger than the number of maximum user. It reduces the interference for channel estimation in the system, and improve accuracy system's channel estimation. At the same time, it suppresses multiple access interference in the system, reduces affect of other noise, thereby improving characteristic of the system. By configuring pilot code of the system, it can also accommodate more users in the system.

Abstract: The invention discloses three methods and apparatuses of 8psk modulation. First of them is that a product of a symbol vector and a coefficient of a shaped filter is stored in a table, and is compressed by 8 based on trigonometric function, using a form of table look-up instead of multiplicative operation. The second is that all states of 8psk modulation will be held in a data table after shaped filtering, and then the data of modulation states stored in the table is compressed and queried based on trigonometric function and level diversity. The final one is that a new modulated vector is stored in a modulated phase table, after simple 8psk modulation and phase rotation, and the modulated phase table is compressed by 4 by querying and data processing so as to obtain a new modulated vector. Then, using RAM coefficient filter makes the shaped filtering. The invention is adapted to a GSM system, and can provide a sufficient capability of data service and extend the lifecycle of a present GSM system adequately. Also, it can save cost and improve a competitive serve of service for operator.

The volume of calculation of the algorithm in traditional beam forming method is great, therefore the demand for digital signal processing elements is high. The spatial domain matched filtering method provided by this invention comprises the steps: receiving array digital signal; weighting the array digital signal to obtain digital beam output signal: estimating the power of the beam output signal and power normalization processing the beam output signal; estimating correlated coefficient that indicating the energy of desired signal in each beam, the estimating formula is (A); outputing the digital beam output signal corresponding to the maximum correlated coefficient. The present invention also provide a array receiver applying this method.

Because the IP datagram partition uses the partition of the best frame length speech encoding frame as a unit, it extremely increases the quality of source speech encoding and decoding. Informal sound test indicates that the MOS value can be increased 0.1 - 0.2.

Before Operation, the corresponding correct value are found out from the table in accordance with IF frequency and RF frequency of each carrier during the initialization. The specific correction is performed in a multiplier before the value are inserted into a digital up-converter. Abstract: A method of digital image combination for multiple channels with multiple sets and a bus interface which includes an image-processing unit for m-channel sub-images, an image-processing unit for n-set combining images, n-set video data buses, address and control buses and a pixel data access control and bus switching logic module. A bus strobe signal controls m-channel sub-images pixel data outputting to one set of the n video data buses at a specific moment. The n sets of image-processing units for combining images combine the sub-images pixel data on the video data buses of n sets to form n integral image data. The method can be used in the multimedia image communication system and image editing system for raising the multiple image-processing capabilities.

The circuit include a lot of stages of current attenuate circuit; in each of the current attenuate circuit stage, the digital control input point and the common model feeddack circuit input point and the bias voltage point is connected to the digital control signal and the common model feeddack circuit and the bias voltage respectively; the analogue input signal which is introduced in the input circuit is performed attenuate step by step under the control of the digital signal. The circuit is novelty in design, which uses the trans-resistance of MOS transistors forming the equivalent resistance or the matching with current source for performing the attenuate step by step, which avoids relying on resistance matching in art, and controls the implement of attenuate step by step with digital signal directly, and is fast in transform speed and small in phase delay and high precision in control, and is suitable for digital IC manufacture technics.
