TL;DR: In this article, the standard deviation of the quantity received is taken to be independent of, or proportional to, the quantity ordered, and the results obtained are shown to be extensions of the well known results of the simple lot size model with backordering.
Abstract: In most economic lot size models, the demand during stockout period is either completely backordered, or lost. Also, the quantity received is assumed to be the same as the quantity ordered. In this paper, a lot size model is described in which the demand during stockout period is either completely or partially backordered, and also the quantity received is uncertain. The standard deviation of the quantity received is taken to be independent of, or proportional to, the quantity ordered. In both cases, the results obtained are shown to be extensions of the well known results of the simple lot size model with backordering.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors highlight patterns of diversification in Indian industry during 1960-75, based on a sample of 72 large public and private sector companies, and analyze the diversification patterns for each sub-category.
Abstract: Based on a sample of 72 large public and private sector companies, this paper highlights patterns of diversification in Indian industry during 1960-75. These two groups were divided into sub-categories and diversification patterns were analysed for each sub-category. The sample as a whole showed a fairly rapid rate of diversification. While the private sector firms showed a pronounced tendency towards unrelated diversification, the public sector units tended to diversify primarily into related businesses. In India, patterns of diversification seems to be influenced strongly by governmental regulations and public policy.

TL;DR: A framework for designing an information system for planning and monitoring of rural health services is proposed in the Indian context and a village level data base is proposed which will integrate environmental data with health programme data.
Abstract: A framework for designing an information system for planning and monitoring of rural health services is proposed in the Indian context. For effective monitoring the framework emphasises selection of a set of programmed and non-programme indicators on inputs, activities, efficiency and impact and their integration at the district level. For planning, a village level data base is proposed which will integrate environmental data with health programme data. Illustrative examples are provided for key features of the MIS and finally those elements of the information system which are either too complex or too voluminous to be handled manually are identified and the possibility of using computers for such analysis is explored.
