TL;DR: In this article, a model was proposed in which the spins are aligned parallel to the b-axis, and powder diffraction patterns in the temperature range from −190 to +120°C were measured.
Abstract: Neutron spectrometric investigations are made of goethite (α-FeOOH) of mineralogical and synthetic origin (α-FeOOH of natural isotopic composition) and also of α-FeOOD using a monochromatic neutron beam of λ = 1.12 A. Some powder diffraction patterns in the temperature range from −190 to +120°C are measured. The obtained coordinates for all atoms (including those for hydrogen) in the unit cell are given. The existence of antiferromagnetic spin ordering at temperatures below +80°C is observed. A model is proposed in which the spins are aligned parallel to the b-axis.

TL;DR: In this paper, an exact master equation (EME) of the markovian form for the diagonal part of the density operator is derived from quantum dynamical laws, which is valid for systems with a time-dependent Hamiltonian also.

TL;DR: In this paper, the SCCC MO method has been used to calculate the electronic structure and spectrum of Mo(CN)consuming 8 4−¯¯¯¯ ions of a D4d symmetry, and the overall agreement between the calculated and observed electronic spectrum is satisfactory.
Abstract: The SCCC MO method has been used to calculate the electronic structure and spectrum of Mo(CN) 8 4− and Mo(CN) 8 3− ions of a D 4d symmetry. All metal-ligand and ligand-ligand interactions and all overlap integrals (over products of HF atomic orbitals) have been included within the SCCC MO scheme. Basing on these calculations a new assignment of some absorption bands is proposed. The overall agreement between the calculated and observed electronic spectrum is satisfactory.

TL;DR: Hereditary dwarf mice with a primary deficiency of thyroid-stimulating hormone, growth hormone, and prolactin were treated with murine TSH and the thyroid epithelium became slightly thicker, but the structure of the thyroid gland remained underdeveloped and there was no significant growth response.

TL;DR: An exact markovian master equation for the smoothed classical distribution function f = Mf is derived using the existence of the operator [1 + M(−1 + exp (-it L))]−1.
Abstract: An exact markovian master equation for the smoothed classical distribution function f = Mf is derived using the existence of the operator [1 + M(−1 + exp (-it L))]−1. It is shown that according to the information theory f0 = 0 (“initial random phase approximation”) should be taken. Then in the first order of a perturbation approach the master equation given by POMPE and VOSS can be derived in the long time approximation.

TL;DR: The results point to some peculiarities in Urostyla metabolism; it was poisoned by succinate—an effect partly abolished by malonate; respiration was stimulated by mal onate; and respiration of vegetative Colpoda was accelerated by Krebs- and glyoxylic-acid cycle intermediates.
Abstract: SYNOPSIS. The respiratory rates of vegetative forms of Urostyla cristata and vegetative and encysted Colpoda cucullus were measured in balanced salt solution and after addition of Na salts of various organic acids, including Krebs- and glyoxylic-cycle intermediates. The results point to some peculiarities in Urostyla metabolism; it was poisoned by succinate—an effect partly abolished by malonate; respiration was stimulated by malonate. Respiration of vegetative Colpoda was accelerated by Krebs- and glyoxylic-acid cycle intermediates. Most of these intermediates inhibited respiration of Urostyla. In experiments of short duration respiration of encysted Colpoda was not stimulated by these intermediates.
