Abstract: Two simulation language developments are described which facilitate the modeling of health care systems. The languages are based on a network format to promote model description and create a communications vehicle for participatory modeling. INS is a general purpose simulation language especially useful in operational environments where problems can be described as a network of queues. SLN is oriented to the modeling of decisions which can be described by a network of logical or decision processes. Both languages are well documented and written in standard FORTRAN for portability.
