TL;DR: Experimental results show that either the K−S statistic or features selected from the chord distribution are good candidates for shape matching.
Abstract: The discrimination of planar closed shapes via their chord length distribution is discussed and tested on two data sets with different kinds of distortion The performance of the chord method is compared with the Fourier descriptor and moment invariant methods Techniques for improving the efficiency of the chord method are investigated The problem of selecting a number of shape features is introduced Experimental results show that either the K−S statistic or features selected from the chord distribution are good candidates for shape matching

TL;DR: In this paper, fixed point theorems for fuzzy mappings are presented, whose results generalize and improve the results of [3] and give a partial answer to the unsolved problem suggested in [1].
Abstract: Fixed point theorems for fuzzy mappings are of fundamental importance in fuzzy mathematical theory and application investigation. This paper pressents some new fixed point theorems for fuzzy mapping, whose results generalize and improve the results of [3] and give a partial answer to the unsolved problem suggested in [1].

TL;DR: Computer-simulation results show that within a certain density range pi-phase filtering produces contrast reversal, that this reversal is strongly dependent on the width of the filter, and that this filtering will cause deformation of density in pseudocolor encoding.
Abstract: The basic problem of obtaining contrast reversal by pi-phase filtering of an image is discussed, and the condition for obtaining contrast reversal is deduced. Computer-simulation results are presented. These-show that, in general, within a certain density range pi-phase filtering produces contrast reversal, that this reversal is strongly dependent on the width of the filter, and that this filtering will cause deformation of density in pseudocolor encoding. The effect of the width of the filter and the density distribution of the image on encoding deformation and the density range of contrast reversal is demonstrated.
