TL;DR: A seat assembly for a vehicle is composed of a floor, a seat, a movable support member supporting the seat to move relative to the floor, and an energy absorbing member disposed between the floor and the seat as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A seat assembly for a vehicle is composed of a floor, a seat, a movable support member supporting the seat to permit the seat to move relative to the floor, a pin or stationary member fixing the seat on the floor to prevent the seat from moving relative to the floor which includes a weak link or releasable section, and an energy absorbing member disposed between the floor and the seat. When an impact in the forward direction is applied to the seat by a rear-end-collision with a following car, if the impact force exceeds a predetermined permissible value, the stationary member is released to permit the seat to move rearwards relative to the floor by the inertia of the seat and passengers, and, simultaneously the energy absorbing member is deformed so as to reduce the impact imposed on the passengers and prevent them from being injured.

TL;DR: In this paper, a pressure regulator regulates a control hydraulic pressure supplied to the servo-operated speed change gear, and further includes a pressure modulator valve connected to the pressure regulator to assure smooth torque transmission for a large torque demand during low speed operation of the vehicle.
Abstract: A hydraulic control system for an automatic transmission, having a torque converter or a hydraulic coupler and a servo-operated speed change gear, for use in vehicles, includes a pressure regulator regulating a control hydraulic pressure supplied to the servo-operated speed change gear, and further includes a pressure modulator valve connected to the pressure regulator to assure smooth torque transmission for a large torque demand during low speed operation of the vehicle. A compensating pressure provided by the pressure modulator valve is applied to the pressure regulator valve to assure a control pressure, proportional to the throttle pressure opening or the torque demand, being applied to the servo-operated speed change gear. The pressure modulator valve restricts the control pressure to a value below the maximum constant pressure for a throttle valve opening exceeding a certain value, preventing excessive increase in the control pressure and assuring a constant low control pressure when the vehicle speed increases to a predetermined speed or when the transmission is set for the usual driving range.

TL;DR: In this paper, the hydraulic braking circuit between the master cylinder and the wheel cylinder is provided with a valve for interrupting fluid communication there between and a movable member for selectively increasing and decreasing the effective volume of a portion of the hydraulic circuit.
Abstract: The hydraulic braking circuit between the master cylinder and the wheel cylinder is provided with a valve for interrupting fluid communication therebetween and a movable member for selectively increasing and decreasing the effective volume of a portion of the hydraulic circuit. A sensor is provided for sensing the rotation of at least one of the wheels of the vehicle and delivering an instruction signal when the wheel is subjected to an excess braking beyond a predetermined deceleration of the wheel. The signal from the sensor operates a change-over valve which increases the effective volume of the portion of the hydraulic circuit by actuating the movable member. A detector is provided for detecting maximum deceleration of the wheel during braking and the maximum value of the detected wheel deceleration is preserved in a memory. The detected maximum wheel deceleration and the rate of change of the effective volume of the hydraulic circuit are converted into effective electric signals. An orifice valve controls the rate of effective volume reduction in the hydraulic circuit in response to a comparison of the electric signals.
