Redes sociales como mecanismo de supervivencia: un estudio de casos en sectores de extrema pobreza

Abstract: This article presents the research results of family social nets which belong to econornically and socially disfavored places in the city ofBarranquilla (Colombia), where social neis are described as survival mechanisms used by disadvantaged communities. The scheme used was a descriptive designo The inforrnation was collected basedon a sample of 162 families throughcombinations ofqualitative and quantitative techniques, and the results were managed by a percentage analysis of their frequency. Resu1ts indicates, that the social net potential is an altemative for social development, thought from the local contexts that guarantees the active society partieipation in the process of political, social and economical transformation that our country is facing nowadays,
