Abstract: Synovectomy of the left knee was performed in 37 immature rabbits, using the right knee for control. In the first set of experiments the articular cartilage was examined at weekly intervals for 8 weeks following the operation, paying particular attention to the metachromatic changes in the ground substance of the cartilage. In the second set of experiments, restoration of synovium was examined. In the third and fourth set of experiments, the uptake of S35 by the cartilage was assessed using autoradiography and densitometry. In the fifth set of experiments, alterations in S35 uptake by the chondrocitic cells of the cartilage were studied by electron microscopy.

TL;DR: In this article, the π ± multiplicity distributions in 12 C and 16 O induced reactions in nuclear emulsion at 2 GeV/nucleon have been measured and compared to a model in which they assume that only independent nucleon nucleon scattering occurs, i.e. very few nucleons must be swept out of the nuclei during the overlap.

Abstract: n firmas compiten por maximizar sus ventas de un producto indiferenciado con precio fijo en base a la intensidad y eficacia de sus campanas publicitarias. Se trata de superar los inconvenientes de los modelos conocidos enmarcando el conflicto en un contexto dinamico en el que se explicitan las repercusiones, en el futuro, de las acciones en un instante dado. Resulta un “juego diferencialn-personal” para el que probamos existe un conjunto de controles que estan en equilibrio de Nash-Cournot. Se amplia el marco del problema incluyendo la posibilidad de que las firmas impongan condiciones sobre el estado final, al termino del periodo comercial (incorporando condiciones de transversalidad), asi como de que las firmas cooperen (estrategias de Pareto). En ambos casos se obtienen resultados concretos paran=2 (duopolio).

Abstract: En este trabajo se estudia el proceso de Bernouilli desde una perspectiva bayesiana. El analisis no se limita a la conocida obtencion de las distribuciones finales que corresponden a una determinada familia de distribuciones iniciales. Asi, se estudian con detalle los problemas de la especificacion de la distribucion inicial, y la determinacion del tamano muestral adecuado a las necesidades del investigador. Mediante el analisis de un conjunto de datos farmacologicos, se ejemplican los resultados y se ilustran una vez mas la flexibilidad y elegancia de los metodos bayesianos.

Abstract: En este estudio se profundiza en el analisis de la DUALIDAD SIMETRICA en Programacion No Lineal, explorando la posibilidad de incorporar, a los ya conocidos, nuevos teoremas de dualidad que puedan ser soporte de hipoteticos algoritmos del tipo Primal-Dual. Se constata, mediante una relacion exhaustiva de contraejemplos, la imposibilidad de obtener un teorema de dualidad debil al sustiuir la condicion de convexidad por la de pseudoconvexidad, asi como de establecer algun criterio firme sobre la acotacion y existencia de optimo para cada problema dadas las caracteristicas de su dual. En el ultimo apartado se demuestran algunos teoremas de dualidad fuerte para ciertas funciones particulares, discutiendose el alcance de estos resultados.
