TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a system for facilitating memory and application management on a smartcard, which includes a client having a number of applications and a smart card having specification logic allowing file structures and security and access conditions to be defined using a set of common commands.
Abstract: A system for facilitating memory and application management on a smartcard the system includes a client having a number of applications and a smartcard having specification logic allowing file structures and security and access conditions to be defined using a set of common commands Each application has a corresponding group of data on the smartcard An applet instance is created for each application and corresponding group of application data At the time of instantiation, the specification logic allows an application to specify the file structure and/or to specify security and access conditions for its group of data An application can utilize passcode and credential management so that a single passcode is used to access the smartcard regardless of whether the application utilizes the common commands to specify a file structure

TL;DR: In this article, a loyalty program within a transaction processing system is developed, and the remaining parameters for the loyalty program are determined by a set of remaining collaborative constituents in the set of collaborative constituents.
Abstract: Collaborative constituents collaborate to develop a loyalty program within a transaction processing system. Transmissions addressed to the collaborative constituents are formed and received from the collaborative constituents containing suggested parameters for the loyalty program. At least one remaining parameter for the loyalty program that a set of remaining collaborative constituents have agreed upon is determined. Another transmission addressed to each of the collaborative constituents in the set of remaining collaborative constituents is formed, the another transmission including the remaining parameters for the loyalty program.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for minimizing risk of a consumer performing a fraudulent Internet purchase transaction using a transaction card using a merchant's website is presented. But, the method is not suitable for a large number of fraudulent Internet transactions.
Abstract: A method for minimizing risk of a consumer performing a fraudulent Internet purchase transactions using a transaction card is disclosed herein, the method comprising receiving an enrollment verification request for a transaction from a merchant's website, transmitting the enrollment verification request to an access control server; receiving an enrollment verification response from the access control server, determining whether the transaction is risky based on at least a portion of the enrollment verification request, if the transaction is not risky, forwarding the enrollment verification response to the merchant website and, if the transaction is risky, modifying the enrollment verification response to denote the transaction is risky and forwarding the modified enrollment verification response to the merchant's website.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present methods and systems for performing micropayment transactions over communication networks by providing a seemless payment solution in which micropaysment is one of a plurality of payments facilitated.
Abstract: Methods and systems for performing micropayment transactions over communication networks is provided. These methods and systems enable ubiquitous micropayments by providing a seemless payment solution in which micropayment is one of a plurality of payments facilitated. In an embodiment, the transaction value may be compared to a predefined threshold, and processed as a micropayment if said value is less than said threshold, and otherwise processed using a second processing system. In another embodiment, the transaction may be processed as a micropayment if the payee has previously been verified by the micropayment processing system. In a third embodiment, the transaction takes place using the payee's website.

TL;DR: A system that has been in operation for the past two years that builds and monitors over 15,000 separate baseline models and the process that isused for generating and investigating alerts using these baselines is described.
Abstract: An important problem in data mining is detecting changes in large datasets. Although there are a variety of change detection algorithms that have been developed, in practice it can be a problem to scale these algorithms to large data sets due to the heterogeneity of the data. In this paper, we describe a case study involving payment card data in which we built and monitored a separate change detection model for each cell in a multi-dimensional data cube. We describe a system that has been in operation for the past two years that builds and monitors over 15,000 separate baseline models and the process that isused for generating and investigating alerts using these baselines.
