TL;DR: In this paper, the authors have surveyed the central and southern parts of the Zagros Mountains and found that microchiropteran bats are the major and most common biotic component for most of the caves.
Abstract: *Corresponding Author: ssadeghi@shirazu.ac.ir Published by: National Cave Research and Protection Organization, India ISSN2348 5191 (Print) & 2348 8980 (Electronic) Vol. 03(1): 22-28 Year 2016 ambient SCIENCE Introduction Zagros is a mountain range that extends from Turkey, Iraq to Iran, which is oriented from the northwest to the south Iran, and comprising nearly one f ifth of the surface area of the country. Zagros, Elburz and central mountainous regions of Iran are mainly the karstic landscapes (Ghaderi & Karimi, 2014; ). This region harbors many caves, till date many of which remain unexplored. All such caves which have been surveyed for bioinventory works in the present study are located in the central and southern parts of the Zagros Mountains. Microchiropteran bats are the major and most common biotic component for most of the caves. The ectoparasites in bats which includes ticks, mites, fleas, flies, bugs, and lice cause illnessand reduced fecundity in bats (Krasnov ., 2004). TL;DR: Diversity of Odonata and their habitat preference was studied in a landscape between Kaziranga National Park and Karbi Hills of Assam and among the recorded species Orthetrum pruinosum, Or thetrum sabina and Pantala flavescens were found to be occupied in all types of habitats.
Abstract: Diversity of Odonata and their habitat preference was studied in a landscape between Kaziranga National Park and Karbi Hills of Assam. During study period we recorded total 82 species of odonates from 51 genera and 10 families out of which, dragonfly (Anisoptera) represented by 43 species and damselfly (Zygoptera) represented by 39 species. Family Libellulidae was the most dominant family with 36 species among the Anisopterans than after family Coenagrionidae with 20 species among Zygopterans. Among the six selected habitats, stream and river sites hold highest species (45) and lowest species found in human habitations (21). Among the recorded species Orthetrum pruinosum, Orthetrum sabina and Pantala flavescens were found to be occupied in all types of habitats.Sorensen’s Similarity index of all the six habitats for odonates species compositionduring studyperiods had maximumvalues CLWP (0.77) and lowest value FA-GL (0.26). A checklist of odonates forcentral Assam hasalsobeen forwarded. Abstract

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of water crisis on food production of Iran and found that Iran is suffering from a high water stress situation and the agriculture sector of Iran is the major source for feeding its fast growing population and this section has put a severe pressure on groundwater resources in order to meet food demand.
Abstract: Food is an essential factor to human life and its production is strongly related to water. Regions without enough available water are subjected to food security threat. Iran is a country in the water-scarce region of the Middle East and a great part of it is arid and semi-arid areas. This study aimed to investigate the effect of water crisis on food production of Iran. Results showed that Iran is suffering from a high water stress situation. The agriculture sector of Iran is the major source for feeding its fast growing population and this section has put a severe pressure on groundwater resources in order to meet food demand of the country. Since then Iran has used a great part of its hydrologic renewable water resources and due to which it could be estimated that the withdrawals reached to non-renewable part of groundwater. Thus, Iran’s agriculture would face a great challenge of water shortage in near future and the food security of the country will be threatened. Using new irrigation methods and technology and revision of crop pattern in agriculture are suggested in order to confront the threat of water crisis to the food security of Iran. Abstract

TL;DR: The Long-billed Vulture is a bald headed vulture with very broad wings and short tail feathers, having no sexual dimorphism, which is in the most critical category of endangerment.
Abstract: OurSurvey: Out of nine species of vultures, the population of three Gyps species, White-backed Vulture ( ), Slender-billed Vulture ( ) and Long-billed Vulture ( ) has declined drastically by 99% over the past decade (Prakash 1999). The Gyps vultures' population declined in India by 97% and by 92% in Pakistan (Virani, 2006, Prakash 2012). Possibly the widespread usage of Diclofenac drug in the animal led to the rapid population decline for these Vultures (Green 2004). The Long-billed Vulture is a bald headed vulture with very broad wings and short tail feathers, having no sexual dimorphism. In Malabar hills region of India the breeding season of Long-billed Vultures was noted to be November to May where it breed mainly on cliffs (Edward, 1915). Presently, it is in the most critical category of endangerment, listed in Schedule-I of the I n d i a n W i l d l i f e P r o t e c t i o n A c t 1 9 7 2 f o l l o w e d b y I U C N , 2 0 1 5 . TL;DR: Conclusively, the higheroccurrence rate of clefts among baby boys was from such mothers who had the positive history of illness during pregnancy time or parents were kinship, which indicates that mothers of about 0.12% of neonates were not having any disease history whereas 0.15% neonates born with cleft palate, lip, or lip and palate were from mothers who were suffering from some diseases during pregnancy.
Abstract: Oral clefts including cleft lip (CL), cleft palate with or without cleft lip (CP/L) are one of the most common congenital deformities. The present study was conducted through a descriptive-retrospective study to examine the frequency of cleft lip and palate based on demographic factors including mother's health condition, parents kinship and weight of infants born in hospitals of Zahedan during 2001_2011 years. The result is based on the available hospital records of 142534 live births (there were 71717 boys and 70817 girls) collected from 4 hospitals of Zahedan city. Results indicate that mothers of about 0.12% of neonates were not having any disease history whereas 0.15% neonates born with cleft palate, lip, or lip and palate were from such mothers who were suffering from some diseases during pregnancy. Conclusively, the higheroccurrence rate of clefts among baby boys was from such mothers who had the positive history of illness during pregnancy time or parents were kinship. Abstract

TL;DR: In this article, a trial was carried out under tape-drip irrigation and in strip factorial plot with a randomized complete block arrangement with two levels of On-Rows Spacing (14 and 20 cm), 2 levels of Planting Pattern ( 40-60 and 40-50) and 4 levels of Nitrogen (zero (N0), 50 (N1), 75 (N2) and 100 (N3) percent of the fertilizer recommendation for furrow irrigation).
Abstract: Improving agricultural input eff iciencies can lead to both decreasing production costs and saving the environment and landscape. Therefore using new irrigating systems that enable fertigation can be a proper alternative for conservative furrow irrigation. With the aim of optimizing land, water and nitrogen use, during previous years in a research farm of KarajIran a trial was carried out under tape-drip irrigation and in strip factorial plot with a randomized complete block arrangement with 2 levels of On-Rows Spacing (14 and 20 cm), 2 levels of Planting Pattern ( 40-60 and 40-50) and 4 levels of Nitrogen (zero (N0), 50 (N1), 75 (N2) and 100 (N3) percent of the fertilizer recommendation for furrow irrigation). Nitrogen accumulation in separate parts of Sugar beet and in the whole plant determined, then Nitrogen Uptake Eff iciency (UPE), Nitrogen Utilization Eff iciency of Sugar and White sugar production (UTEs, UTEws) and Nitrogen Use Eff iciency to produce Sugar and White sugar (NUEs and NUEws) were calculated. A compound analysis wasn’t allowed by Fmax test thus results of each year was analyzed separately. On-rows Spacing levels didn’t show any signif icant differences among studied Traits and Planting Pattern except on a single ground organ and whole plant nitrogen accumulation, UPE and UTE. Nitrogen fertilizer has a signif icant influence on all traits in both years. Based on the results it has been observed that more the nitrogen fertilizer used more the rate of nitrogen accumulation in sugar beets occurred. However, by increasing use of nitrogen fertilizer UPE improved, but UTE and NUE decreased. Abstract

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used structural equation modelling and material properties to predict the crash of an aircraft with the body of a nuclear power plant, and the effects of such crash on the environment and people's lives.
Abstract: Due to the ongoing threat of terrorist attacks and their heavy damages left behind, it is essential to becoming familiar with explosion phenomena and behaviour of structures and their sustainability in the face of such incidents and other similar explosions. Today, terrorist attacks are carried out not only against people but also against the main installations and vital communities as well. Since 9/11 attacks, aircraft crash with the body of a nuclear power plant became a very sensitive factor. The destruction of Twin Towers raised concerns about nuclear reactors and the importance of terrorist attacks. It is well known that if the damage would be done to the reactor, it would leave pernicious effects on the environment and people’s lives. The nuclear reactor’s internal materials’ sensitivity, have very strong withstanding power so that to face the terrorist attacks (Kar, 1979). Concrete chamber of the reactor would be the f irst defence system against the forces while explosion cause. Furthermore, the effects of such crash could alsocause the death/injuryof the nuclear scientists and destruction of vegetation and organisms withinseveral hundred kilometres. Hence, the responseof the outer containment of nuclear reactor depends on the aircraft’s crash and its explosion. From a safety point of view, the aim is to recognise eventuality and strategies for immunisations of reactors against terrorist attacks and dealing with itsconsequences (Frano & Forasassi, 2011). Concrete’s response against crash’s loading is very different from the static load. In the top of it tensile resistance pressure, and initial stiffness increases due to the effects caused by the deformation and strains (Abbas 1996). Generally, we can say that accurately predicting the crash with concrete structures which are armed with appropriate numerical techniques, structural equation modelling and material properties would come in handy in structural equation (Iqbal , 2012). Abstract: The present study was aimed to measure the daily routine preference, daytime sleepiness, and psychological distress experiences, because of split shift system job in a sample in traff ic police personnel of Raipur city, India. To measure such parameters we used the Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire, Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), Operational Police Stress Questionnaire (OPSQ), General Health Questionnaire and the Distress. To evaluate differences between age, body mass index, period of service length and drug / alcohol use for all the subjects (traff ic police personnel) the t-test and chi-square test were used. Total Hundred male traff ic police personnel participated and out of which most of them were found to belong in the evening active category. This study also indicates increased prevalence of excessive daytime sleepiness and (EDS) high level of psychological distress as measured by the GHQ-12 among few police workers. Moreover, a number of participants reported signif icant distress levels, when measured with distress thermometer. In nutshell, the study sample suggests adaptive coping strategies of traff ic police personnel working in split shift system profession can be attributed totheirevening (E)-typecircadianpreferences. Abstract: There are two forms of pneumothorax; spontaneous and traumatic. There is no history of trauma in Spontaneous pneumothorax which has two subgroups consisting of primary or secondary (Papagiannis 2015).Primary spontaneous pneumothorax is common in young and normal individuals whereas secondary spontaneous pneumothorax iscaused due to lung and otherpathologies like the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic f ibrosis .The frequency of pneumothorax is higher in patients with underlying lung disease (MacDuff , 2010). A study indicated that age-adjusted incidence of primary spontaneous pneumothorax is 7.4 per 100,000 per year in men and 1.2 per 100,000 per year in women. For secondaryspontaneous pneumothorax, the incidence was 6.3 and 2.0 per 100,000 per year in men and women. They reported that ratio of male-to-female incidence was 6.2:1 for primary and 3.2:1 for secondary spontaneous pneumothorax (Melton 1979). Reports also suggest cases of hospital admitted rates for both primary and secondary spontaneous pneumothorax in the United Kingdom were 16.7 per 100,000 for male and 5.8per 100,000 for female, with et al.,

TL;DR: Hathipol tunnel caves are such passages, usually formed in the foothill of any mountain and mutually connect two plateaus as mentioned in this paper, which are large enough to accommodate a sizable amount of human beings and/or animals but do not meet all the criteria which are required to define a true cave.
Abstract: Hathipol: Tunnel caves are such passages, usually formed in the foothill of any mountain and mutually connect two plateaus. Such caves are large enough to accommodate the sizable amount of human beings and/or animals but do not meet all the criteria which are required to def ine a true cave (Vandel, 1965; Ford & Cullingford, 1976). Perhaps the geological processes of formation of such structures are the same as the other adjacent true caves. In essence, the complete dark zones are usually absent in tunnel caves due to which constant geophysical characteristics never develops. However, up to far extent tunnel caves also harbor the same bioticcomponentswhichareusuallycommon in theothertruecavesexistelsewhere.
