Abstract: Melanin was proved in the tumorous cells in a 62-year-old man who had a malignant tumor with the structure of clear cell sarcoma of tendons on the sole of the foot. Electronoptic examination confirmed the presence of numerous melanosomas and their complexes. Although the tumor may be regarded as a special variant of melanoblastoma from clear cells (7), the authors give reasons admitting an independent position within the clear cell sarcoma of tendons.

TL;DR: Postmortem examination ruled out any other aetiology of the clear-cell carcinoma of the thyroid gland, which was seen invading the capsule, striated muscle, and vessels, and metastasizing in the form of a solitary metastasis into the ilium.
Abstract: The case of a 66-year old woman is presented involving the partial transformation of follicular carcinoma with a solid somponent into clear-cell carcinoma of the thyroid gland. The carcinoma in its follicular component was seen invading the capsule, striated muscle, and vessels, and metastasizing in the form of a solitary metastasis into the ilium. Postmortem examination ruled out any other aetiology of the clear-cell carcinoma.

TL;DR: Density of the nerve fibers in lamina propria is irregular and the examination of the cholinesterase activity may lead to falsely negative results in aganglionosis, so biopsy must include even muscularis mucosae and the choice of the instrument for biopsy removal must meet this requirement.
Abstract: Examination of 65 rectal biopsies and 10 resections by the histochemical detection of cholinesterase leads to the following conclusions: 1. Density of the nerve fibers in lamina propria is irregular and the examination of the cholinesterase activity may lead to falsely negative results in aganglionosis. 2. Constant is, in aganglionosis, the finding of markedly increased reaction in the nerve fibers of the muscularis mucosae and submucosa. 3. Biopsy must, therefore, include even muscularis mucosae and the choice of the instrument for biopsy removal must meet this requirement.

TL;DR: A description is presented of the cystic degeneration of the adventitia of the external iliac and femoral arteries that compressed the arterial lumen and resulted in thrombotic occlusion.
Abstract: A description is presented of the cystic degeneration of the adventitia of the external iliac and femoral arteries. Numerous cysts in the adventitia compressed the arterial lumen and resulted in thrombotic occlusion. The histologic picture was similar to that of tendinous sheath ganglion. A list is given of cases already described with a discussion of the views concerning its aetiology and pathogenesis.

TL;DR: This is the first case of death due to this kind of poisoning ever described in Czechoslovakia, and the authors present a case of fungus poisoning involving nephrotoxic effects.
Abstract: The authors present a case of fungus poisoning involving nephrotoxic effects. Diagnosis was derived from the typical course of the conditions as well as from the postmortem and mycological investigations of intestinal contents. This is the first case of death due to this kind of poisoning ever described in Czechoslovakia.

TL;DR: Anaplastic, mostly spindle-cellular, carcinoma of the thyroid gland was diagnosed bioptically in a 65-year-old woman and Necroptically it was found that the carcinoma was associated with Hashimoto's lymphocytic thyroiditis.
Abstract: Anaplastic, mostly spindle-cellular, carcinoma of the thyroid gland was diagnosed bioptically in a 65-year-old woman. Necroptically it was found that the carcinoma was associated with Hashimoto's lymphocytic thyroiditis. In the hitherto-differentiated carcinomatous parts the papillary component prevailed and the original lymphocytic stromal infiltration was in evidence here. In the anaplastic parts isolated macrocellular elements occurred and, in some places, also chondroid and osteoid structures, especially the structures of macrocellular bone tumor character. These structures were entirely missing in the distant metastases and were, therefore, evaluated as a stromal nontumorous metaplastic process.

TL;DR: Postmortem and bioptic material from the 1953-1976 period included 7 cases of oncocytic renal adenoma larger than 5 cm including 3 larger than 10 cm, and all of the tumours appeared to behave in a benign way.
Abstract: Postmortem and bioptic material from the 1953-1976 period included 7 cases of oncocytic renal adenoma larger than 5 cm including 3 larger than 10 cm. Macroscopic characteristics included red-brownish coloration and extensive foci of central hyalinosis. Microscopy showed them as being made up of cells resembling oncocytes with relatively active nuclei with solid, occasionally focus-like tubular structure. In spite of the large size and, in some rarer cases, focal nuclear atypia all of the tumours appeared to behave in a benign way. The causes of their increased frequency in the past decade remain to be clarified yet.
