TL;DR: In this paper , the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic induced supply chain disruptions (SCDs) on the Indian automotive industry (IAI) using a case study of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), which share about 50% of automotive market in India and offered mitigation strategies and the SCDs recovery model.
Abstract: The paper analyzed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic induced supply chain disruptions (SCDs) on the Indian automotive industry (IAI) using a case study of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), which share about 50% of automotive market in India and offered mitigation strategies and the SCDs recovery model. The study revealed that the IAI is unlikely to achieve its target for 2021-2022 due to pandemic induced SCDs and MSIL is no exception. The study revealed that in 2019-2020, the MSIL reduced its production several times to adjust dealers’ inventories in view of unprecedented economic slowdown and the prolonged domestic slump in automobile industry. In 2020-2021, MSIL is still facing severe disruption risks caused by the COVID-19 along with other OEMs in India and globally. In the first wave of the pandemic in India, MSIL production was totally halted and domestic sales were virtually zero in April 2020. During the second wave of the pandemic crisis in India, MSIL again experienced a severe fall in production and sales performance due to regional lockdown restrictions and SCDs. The rapid decline in production of MSIL has been mainly due to the pandemic induced lockdown and the SCDs in auto-components and halt in manufacturing activities. Therefore, robust mitigation strategies are needed to recover from the COVID-19 induced SCDs. The suggested model focused on the SCDs and risk management and offered the proactive and reactive responses for speedier readjustment of automotive industry from the COVID-19 pandemic induced SCDs. Ending the COVID-19 era and its impact on SCDs will not only depend on government policies, but also on proactive and reactive risk mitigation measures initiated by the firms. Robust measures should be taken to tackle the current supply chain threats in automotive sector to build the resilience of supply chain systems to safeguard them against business downturns.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated local socio-economic and spatial impacts of proposed high speed rail (HSR) project around Ahmedabad station area on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR corridor, analyzed the opportunities and challenges of HSR development and drew policy implications.
Abstract: Growth benefits of high speed rail (HSR) for enterprises are not automatic, but require a buoyant local economy and a robust strategy. Against the above background, the main objectives of ex-ante case study have been to investigate local socio-economic and spatial impacts of proposed HSR project around Ahmedabad station area on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR corridor, analyze the opportunities and challenges of HSR development and draw policy implications. Qualitative research methodology has been used to elicit the perceptions and perspectives of randomly selected 43 small, medium and large enterprises. Data has been analyzed using descriptive statistics. The study reveals that HSR induced greater human interaction will activate the local economy, improve business efficiency and generate employment. Frequent travels on business trips can influence enterprises' decision to settle near HSR stations for easy access and likely to promote realty development. The proposed HSR project should be developed in synergy with the urban dynamics of cities in transition and metropolitan service cities. Poor public transport connectivity is likely to be a major challenge in improving HSR accessibility and enhancing overall impacts of HSR, which can be improved by developing an integrated urban transport system, for which cooperation of all stakeholders and coherence with firms' strategies is essential.

TL;DR: In this article , the implications of the Indo-Pacific (IP) from the perspectives of major world powers and India's relevance in the IP region (IPR) vis-à-vis India's Look East Policy to Act East Policy (AEP) along with India's approach to the IP, exploring the challenges and opportunities for India in the larger geopolitical context of the IP and reaction of the Indian government to advances in the region.
Abstract: The paper intends to analyze the implications of the Indo-Pacific (IP) and the Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS) from the perspectives of major world powers and India's relevance in the Indo-Pacific region (IPR) vis-à-vis India's Look East Policy (LEP) to Act East Policy (AEP) along with India's approach to the IP, exploring the challenges and opportunities for India in the larger geopolitical context of the IP and reaction of the Indian government to advances in the region. For India, the multi-dimensional regional cooperation in the IP would promote economic relations and improve regional capacity to tackle the complex regional challenges. Therefore, robust maritime connectivity is essential for a more common and mutually-reinforcing market-driven economic structure in the IP. Robust maritime services can reduce transportation costs and boost cross-border trade and infrastructure investment in the countries of the region. In this context, India's Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR) could be a robust step to strengthen maritime connectivity. There is a need to address the multifaceted maritime-security risks and disputes for shared prosperity in the countries of the IPR using collective approaches to focus on technical cooperation, capacity building, and sharing of knowledge and expertise. Regional economic and trade integration can facilitate global trade and build necessary infrastructure, for which role in the bigger IP economies is essential. Therefore, the economies of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region would be a major driving force for speeding up cooperation within the IP.

TL;DR: In this paper , the socio-economic determinants of mobile money services in Pakistan and how this service competes with traditional financial systems are investigated and a study based on Karachi, as a sample of this research.
Abstract: World technologies have changed the perspective of a consumer; at one time, people need more time to travel than communicate with long-distance living relatives. The telecommunication industry has gained significantly since the invention of the transistor. In the last century, the most valuable development in telecommunication services was the development of the mobile phone. The emergence of information communication and the mobile phone industry has changed the money transmission mechanism. Mobile money is one of the new mechanisms in financial services is that accessible through mobile phones, and it allows people to make their financial transactions via mobile phones. This type of mobile money service enhanced the social life of people and it also generates economic benefits for them. This study aims to investigate the socio-economic determinants of mobile money services in Pakistan and how this service competes with traditional financial systems. To examine the determinants of this research, a study based on Karachi, as a sample of this research. Karachi is the largest metropolitan city in Pakistan and it has the highest internal migration rate in Pakistan. Primary and secondary data were used to analyze the determinants of mobile money in Pakistan. The study reveals that migrated people are less prefer to use mobile money services due to multiple reasons. In addition, the young population has a more frequent use of mobile money. The study concludes that way, mobile money services have enormous potential in Pakistan and it makes a tough call to its competitors by accessibility and affordability. Pakistan's government should introduce more players in the market to create a healthy competition and reduce the unbanked population.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper investigated the differences in research methods adopted between Chinese and international e-commerce research and provided suggestions and recommendations for further research agenda in ecommerce post-COVID-19.
Abstract: This research aimed to understand the differences in research methods adopted between Chinese and international e-commerce research and provided suggestions and recommendations for further research agenda in e-commerce post-COVID-19. This research studied 4,425 Chinese publications between 2015 and 2019 compared to international reviews in e-commerce research. Twelve findings were discussed: 1) Most of China's e-commerce publications (80.24%) did not state any research method. 2) Mixed methods have been well-adopted in China's e-commence research (35.05%), including quantitative-mixed, qualitative-mixed, and quantitative-qualitative mixed methods. They were highly adopted compared to other studies. 3) Survey methods (27.97%) were predominantly single research - purely quantitative method in Chinese research, but they were still behind international research. 4) Case studies (14.05%) were adopted as the second single method in Chinese research. This finding was significantly different from international views. 5) There were different views on whether laboratory experiments should be considered a research method. 6) Document and text analysis methods were reported by Chinese scholars (6.48%), but less and even not be reported internationally. 7) The focus group method was less adopted internationally. 8) The content analysis method (0.84%) was less adopted in Chinese research and was not reported by international scholars. 9) The observation method (0.6%) was less adopted in Chinese research but more adopted in Ain et al. (2019) (2%). Other international studies reported no studies. 10) Interviews (0.36%) were least adopted in Chinese research but highly reported by international scholars. 11) Field study, secondary, and Delphi methods were only adopted in international research, and 12) The correlational research method was not reported in e-commerce research. The main contributions of this study could be stated: Being valuable for researchers interested in Chinese e-commerce research; Adding research value for comparing reviews in e-commerce research methods.
