TL;DR: The overall experimental results reveal that the feature combination of MFCC+MEDC+ Energy has the highest accuracy rate on both Chinese emotional database and Berlin emotional database.
Abstract: Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) is a hot research topic in the field of Human Computer Interaction (HCI). In this paper, we recognize three emotional states: happy, sad and neutral. The explored features include: energy, pitch, linear predictive spectrum coding (LPCC), mel-frequency spectrum coefficients (MFCC), and mel-energy spectrum dynamic coefficients (MEDC). A German Corpus (Berlin Database of Emotional Speech) and our self-built Chinese emotional databases are used for training the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier. Finally results for different combination of the features and on different databases are compared and explained. The overall experimental results reveal that the feature combination of MFCC+MEDC+ Energy has the highest accuracy rate on both Chinese emotional database (91.3% ) and Berlin emotional database (95.1% ).

TL;DR: This paper proposed architecture for IoT based u-healthcare monitoring with the motivation and advantages of Cloud to Fog(C2F) computing which interacts more by serving closer to the edge (end points) at smart Homes and Hospitals.
Abstract: Healthcare in the past, decision making was merely based on doctor’s personal experience, domain knowledge, patient's physical signs and symptoms and diagnostic laboratory reports. In contrast, devices or things and technologies came into existence playing significant role and helps doctors or physicians to add wisdom to their decision in healthcare monitoring. Cloud paradigm stands as the backbone for on-demand network use of a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) in U-healthcare monitoring system architectures but attached limitations which are solved by Fog(significant extension of cloud). This paper proposed architecture for IoT based u-healthcare monitoring with the motivation and advantages of Cloud to Fog(C2F) computing which interacts more by serving closer to the edge (end points) at smart Homes and Hospitals.

TL;DR: This paper suggests two methods for home security system which uses web camera and sends SMS which uses GSMGPS Module (sim548c) and Atmega644p microcontroller, sensors, relays and buzzers.
Abstract: Security has becoming an important issue everywhere. Home security is becoming necessary nowadays as the possibilities of intrusion are increasing day by day. Safety from theft, leaking of raw gas and fire are the most important requirements of home security system for people. A traditional home security system gives the signals in terms of alarm. However, the GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) based security systems provides enhanced security as whenever a signal from sensor occurs, a text message is sent to a desired number to take necessary actions. This paper suggests two methods for home security system. The first system uses web camera. Whenever there is a motion in front of the camera, it gives security alert in terms of sound and a mail is delivered to the owner. The second method sends SMS which uses GSMGPS Module (sim548c) and Atmega644p microcontroller, sensors, relays and buzzers.

TL;DR: An application of gesture-based remote human-robot interaction is proposed using a Kinect sensor, which combines depth information with traditional Camshift tracking algorithm by using Kinect and employs HMM in dynamic gesture classification.
Abstract: Gesture based natural human-robot interface is an important function of robot teleoperation system. Such interface not only enables users to manipulate a remote robot by demonstration, but also ensures user-friendly interaction and software reusability in developing a networked robot system. In this paper, an application of gesture-based remote human-robot interaction is proposed using a Kinect sensor. The gesture recognition method combines depth information with traditional Camshift tracking algorithm by using Kinect and employs HMM in dynamic gesture classification. A Client/Server structured robot teleoperation application system is developed, which provides a favorable function of remotely controlling a dual-arm robot by gestural commands. Experiment results validate the practicability and effectiveness of the application system.

TL;DR: This paper contributes by presenting Green IoT Agriculture and Healthcare Application (GAHA) using sensor-cloud integration model and lists out the advantages, challenges, and future research directions related to green application design.
Abstract: The application of the two trending and popular technologies, Cloud Computing (CC) and the Internet of Things (IoT) are current hot discussions in the field of agriculture and healthcare applications. Motivated by achieving a sustainable world, this paper discusses various technologies and issues regarding green cloud computing and green Internet of Things, further improves the discussion with the reduction in energy consumption of the two techniques (CC and IoT) combination in agriculture and healthcare systems. The history and concept of the hot green information and communications technologies (ICT’s) which are enabling green IoT will be discussed. Green computing introduction first and later focuses on the recent works done regarding the two emerging technologies in both agriculture and healthcare cases. Furthermore, this paper contributes by presenting Green IoT Agriculture and Healthcare Application (GAHA) using sensor-cloud integration model. Finally, lists out the advantages, challenges, and future research directions related to green application design. Our research aims to make green area broad and contribution to sustainable application world. Keyword: Green, IoT (Internet of Things), Cloud Computing, Agriculture application, Healthcare application, Sensor-Cloud
