TL;DR: This case provided a warning for pregnant pangolin′s breeding management and disease treatment in future, and it had a certain guiding significance for continuing the pangolins′ conservation.
Abstract: A Sunda pangolin′s cub with malformation was born in Pangolins' Artificial Domestication and Breeding Research Base of South China Normal University on October 2,2012.Its mother mated with a male in captivity. This baby was a male with 90 g body mass and 24.1 cm in length. It had many organs on its head which were malformation, including cryptophthalmos, concha hypoplasia, bilateral lip and cleft palate, and an obvious convex on the right side of its head.It had been made into a specimen and deposited in the school of Life Science,South China Normal University. It is argued that the reasons that leading to its malformation might be the nutrition, diseases and medications used during the female pregnancy period. This case provided a warning for pregnant pangolin′s breeding management and disease treatment in future, and it had a certain guiding significance for continuing the pangolins′ conservation.

TL;DR: The parasite infection status in Tibetan Antelope, was reviewed, aiming to provide reference for disease prevention of the wild animals.
Abstract: Tibetan Antelope regarded as the first-class animal under protection in China is distributed in Tibetan Plateau(Tibet,Qinghai and Xinjiang).Known as "the pride of the Kekexili",it is also included in the "CITES" in endangered animal which is strictly prohibited for trading. There are many articles aboat Tibetan Antelope migration, but lettle information were found about diseases especially parasitic diseases of Tibetan Antelope.Up to now, seven specices of parasites were reported,ie.1 species of protozoa,2 nematode,2 cestodes and 2 ectoparasites. The parasite infection status in Tibetan Antelope, was reviewed, aiming to provide reference for disease prevention of the wild animals.

TL;DR: The results indicated that musk weaned outside the nursing room experienced anxiety wandering, running and bleating for a longer period of time and had less average daily feed intake and bodyweight growth than those weaned in the Nursing room.
Abstract: In order to study the effect of weaningways on the behavior and growth performance of young forestmusk deer, twelve musk deerwere divided into two groups, one was weaned in the nursing room and the otheroutside the nursing room, and the growth performance and behaviorwere observed. The results indicated that musk weaned outside the nursing room experienced anxiety wandering, running and bleating for a longer period of time than those weaned in the nursing room. Furthermore, musk weaned outside the nursing room had less average daily feed intake and bodyweight growth than those weaned in the nursing room. While no difference of bodyweight between muskweaned in the nursing room and outside the nursing room at 20 days after weaning. In conclusion, weaning in the nursing room was more suitable for the growth of young forestmusk deer.

TL;DR: The results showed that EST-SSRs and types of tandem repeats were rich in the Pelodiscus sinensis ESTs, and it was applicable to develop SSRs from its EST resources.
Abstract: A total of 4324 Pelodiscus sinensis ESTs,178 obtained from NCBI database and 4 146 from sequencing cDNA library of ulcer disease infected liver, were analyzed. And 2 644 non-reduntant ESTs with total length about 1 630.26 kb were obtained. One hundred ninty-seven EST-SSRs distributed in 137 ESTs were mined out by MISA.The frequency of these EST-SSRs was 7.45% and the mean distance of distribution was 8.28 kb in non-redundant ESTs.Dinucleotide and trinucleotide repeats were the main types in Pelodiscus sinensis, accouting for 60.91% and 35.53% of all the SSRs,respectively.AC/GT and AGC/CTG were the most frequent motifs, accounting for 44.17% and 62.86% in dinucleotide and trinucleotide repeats, respectively. The results showed that EST-SSRs and types of tandem repeats were rich in the Pelodiscus sinensis ESTs,and it was applicable to develop SSRs from its EST resources.

TL;DR: The route of transmission, epidemic factors, process of infection, the damage and prevention measures of the Baylisasaris which is the obligate parasites of the giant panda were mainly introduced and some other parasitoses which pose a threat to the giantpanda were also reviewed.
Abstract: The giant panda is a rare species in China, and the parasite was one of serious diseases for it.To date, there are 26 parasites to be found, and the Baylisasaris was most prevalence and seriously. In this paper, the route of transmission, epidemic factors, process of infection, the damage and prevention measures of the Baylisasaris which is the obligate parasites of the giant panda were mainly introduced.Meanwhile, some other parasitoses which pose a threat to the giant panda such as acariasis, trough plate fluke disease and nkylostomiasis were also reviewed.

TL;DR: The Wildlife Feeding Management System (WFMS) is a management system that carries out planning, organizing, coordinating, commanding and controlling activities about wildlife feeding of wildlife production and management organizations.
Abstract: Wildlife FeedingManagementSystem(WFMS)is a management system that carrys out planning, organizing, coordinating, commanding and controlling activities about wildlife feeding of Wildlife Production and ManagementOrganization(WPMO),usually including activitiesof feeding policy and objective, feeding plan, feeding control, feeding assurance and feeding improvement, covering laws and regulations, other requirements, animalwelfare, environment, occupational health and safety.Establishment of comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable WFMS is innovation in institution, management, the inevitable requirementof resource sustainable utilization and sustainable developmentofWPMO,and fundamental expectation ofwildlife administration, too. ImplementingWFMS can reduce risk of management to raise the management standard, safeguard animal welfare and protectof rights and interests of employees. Developing WFMS certification, supervising and managingwild animal farmingwith the help of social forces and replacing administrationwith certification step by step are importantways to transformgovernment function, enhance administrative efficiency, decrease administration cost, and reduce administrative responsibility and administrative risk.

TL;DR: The results showed that wild boars preferred habitats with the following characteristics: altitudes of 2 400- 2 800 m, height of herb less than 30 cm, cover of herb greater than 50%, no brush, high levels of the proportion of 1 m below the branches, and distance to human disturbance less than 500 m.
Abstract: Habitatselectionof thewild boar(Sus scrofa)was investigated from March toMay 2012 in the Liupan Mountain national nature reserve. Eighteen ecological factorswere recorded in each of the thirtythree 10 m× 10 m plots. The data thuswere collected and analyzed using cluster analysis and principal component analysis. The results showed thatwild boars preferred habitats with the following characteristics: altitudes of 2 400- 2 800 m, height of herb less than 30 cm, cover of herb greater than 50%, no brush, high levels of the proportion of 1 m below the branches, distance towater source notgreater than100 m, distance to human disturbance less than 500 m.There were no obvious preferences low and geographic factors for the animals.

TL;DR: In this paper, the development strategy for fur animal breeding based on the current development status in Shandong Province was discussed deeply, and the aim of the paper is to supply some references to promote healthy and stable development for the Fur animal breeding, so as to realize sustainable development of the industry.
Abstract: Shandong is the largest fur animal breeding province in China, such as mink, fox and raccoon.Annual slaughter rate accounted for more than half of our Country.Recent years it developed rapidly and has become a pillar industry in some areas. But there are still some deficiencies of fur animal feeding, such as low level of industrialization, incomplete industry chain, and the irregular development. In this article, the development strategy for fur animal breeding based on the current development status in Shandong Province was discussed deeply. The aim of the paper is supply some references to promote healthy and stable development for the fur animal breeding,so as to realize sustainable development of the industry.
