Promoting Reform of the Course "Basic Digital Media Technology" Through Contests and Case Studies

Abstract: Directed at problems existed in the traditional teaching of multi-media technology and based on students' actual situation,multimedia design contests and the case study method were introduced to promote curriculum reform of the course "basic digital media technology".Proven by practice,contests and the case study method noticeably stimulate students' interest in learning and increase their learning efficiency.

Marxist Hermeneutics in the Ideological and Political Education of Colleges and Universities:Inhertance and Transcendence

Abstract: It has been recognized that the basic defect of traditional ideological and political education of colleges and universities is the absence of "real man".Currently,we begin to concern about the needs and the subjective of "real man",and the education method has been changed into guiding from spoon-feeding education in today's ideological and political education of colleges and universities.However,the tendency that the subjective expanding has been emerged while the lack of practice education still exists in today's ideological and political education of colleges and universities.According to the thought of Marxist hermeneutics,it is needed to persist in those principles as following for enhancing the teaching quality in ideological and political education of colleges and universities: the reality principle,the unity of individual value and social value,the unity of science and revolution and the principle of practicality.

SOA-based GIS Spatial Database Design

Abstract: With the popularity of applications such as Google Earth and the decline in cost of geographic data collection,a variety of constructions and applications relying on the geographic information system become increasingly popular.The quality of services depends mainly on the data,the GIS database design is also crucial for the quality of applications of geographic information system services.Due to the influence of traditional production concepts,more emphasis is put on how to update the data easily in the database design of the geographic information system service,but the need for data services to better respond is often overlooked in the design.In order to guarantee the quality of geographic information system services,this paper fully describes the characteristics of the spatial objects and spatial databases and the related technology,discusses the key technology of the spatial database design in detail,and points out the important role of the service-oriented design principles for the design of the proposed SOA-based spatial database.From many years of system development experience,the concept,content and design requirements of the construction of service-oriented database are described.

On the Construction of Teaching Staff in Colleges and Universities

Abstract: The higher education has entered the stage of cultural construction and quality improvement.The most important task is to construct the teahcing staff and the management system for teachers' development.This paper shares some good experience of teaching staff constructing in foreign countries and analysizes some problems in China.Therefore,it puts forward some advice and suggestions to meet the demand of sustainable development of the teaching staff in colleges and universities.
